Mini Ice Cream Cookie Pops

I am pretty sure there is nothing you could do to these to make them more perfect:

Jen from Pen 'n Paper Flowers used all the tricks.  They are mini (small is always cuter), they have ice cream (ice cream makes everything better), and they are on a stick!

I am pretty sure it would be against the law to not make these with the kids before school starts back up!

Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes

I have seen this image floating around blog land for about a week:

but could never figure out the source of the actual recipe.  Now I know it is Woman's Day, so I can tell you to go check it out HERE.

I love that they used wafer cookies to make the cones!  and I think instead of the the frosting ice cream on top you could even make a flat version of a cake pop.  Then it is like two treats in one!

Salad on a Stick

I love this salad on a stick from Sweet Paul:

And the rest of the food on a stick is pretty great too:

You can check it all out HERE.

Hello Naomi the Blog

I am so excited!  I just found out that Hello Naomi (my favorite cup cake maker) now has a blog.  I loved looking at her creations on Flickr, but it is even better now that I can subscribe to her in my Reader!

You can check out her blog HERE.  But be prepared to fall in love!

Nectarine Tart

I am not sure what makes me want to make this nectarine tart from Bakers Royale more:

The fact that it sounds delicious (you can see the recipe HERE) or that fact that it looks like a gorgeous flower.

Wax Paper Embroidery Hoop Wall Art

I saw this at Free Pretty Things For You:

I think I would use something other than wax paper, but I love the idea of having a cute mini pennant garland hanging around all the time.   You could even do it without the embroidery hoop and just hang it in a frame.

Paper Stars

City Cradle has a tutorial up for these paper stars:

They would be fun to hang around your house at Christmas time (yes I know it is too early to be talking about Christmas...but we will claim Christmas in July).  They would also be cute hung over any party table.  But I also thing they would be great on the origami mobile, if you aren't the butterfly type.

You can see how to make them HERE.

Fabric Flower Magnetic Broach

Mandy from Sugar Bee Craft Edition made this cute fabric flower broach to jazz up her t-shirts:

But instead of attaching it with a pin, she attached it with magnets:

Wow those magnets bring me back to my days of working as a bank teller.  Those are name tag magnets.  I still have all of mine because they are really great magnets.  They hold like a dozen works of art on the fridge without budging!  So I have no doubt that the pretty flower broach isn't going anywhere.

Plus, when you aren't wearing it, it can double as a refrigerator magnet!   Or at least store them on a magnet board.

You can check out her tutorial HERE.

Glow Cones

Amberlee from The Givers Log found a way to make snow cones twice as fun.  By making them GLOW cones:

She turned a regular glow stick (the necklace kind) and a couple of cups into these magical treats!  You can see her tutorial HERE.

Mason Jar Collection Holder

After posting about the jar storage idea, I found this image on Sweet Charli:

See the jars.  I am pretty sure they are hung the same way (with hose clamps) and I love that they are used to hold a little boys 'collections'.  My boy is always finding things that he wants to collect.  Luckily none of them are living, but this would be a great way to give him a special place to keep all of his special things.

And now that I think of it...Lou La will need one too!

Crayola Nail Art Pen

Crayola makes nail art pens?  How did I not know this?  I guess you can get them at Walmart.  I will be on the lookout.  What a fun summer activity for the girls!

Have you seen these?  Have you used them?  Either way, let me in on your best nail painting trick?  I love painting my nails, and the girls, but it usually looks like they painted them.  I don't really have any nail painting skills.

Swiss Roll Ice Cream Cake

I am pretty sure that this tastes as good as it looks:

You can get the recipe for this Swiss Roll Ice Cream Cake at Good Eats 'n Sweet Treats.

Mason Jar Storage

Another fun use for Mason Jars:

You can use hose clamps to secure the jars to a piece of wood and use it to store all sorts of things.  Office supplies above your desk, scissors above your craft table, wooden spoons in the kitchen.  So many fun ideas!

And if you don't want to make your own, you can buy some from Old New Again on Etsy:

She even sells a super cute coat rack version:

Summer Strawberry Treat

I love this quick and easy recipe from Sweet Paul.  A bowl of strawberries with sugar and lemon zest.  YUM!

A Twist on the Draped Fabric Ceiling

Ashley Meaders has some really beautiful party ideas.  She is the person behind these cute little pancakes I posted about back in April:

My new favorite idea from her site is this:

Instead of draping fabric, she draped strips of  lots of different fabric.  Such a fun and colorful idea.  I think I want this over my bed all of the time!

Mason Jar Lamp

I am still on my mason jar kick, so I thought I would show you this lamp from Red Mommy Crafts:

Just think of all the stuff you could put in that jar!  You can see the tutorial on how to make your own HERE.

Lace Lanterns

Kootoyoo will show you how to turn an old lace table cloth in to pretty lace lanterns:

You can check out the tutorial (that I found on CraftzineHERE.

Origami Butterfly Mobile

I found this cute mobile on Chez Larsson:

She has it hanging over her desk,  I think it would look pretty cute in just about any girls room.  And since the butterflies are made out of paper, you can make it match just about anything.

You can check out her video on how to fold the butterflies HERE.  Or use this diagram to fold your own:

And even if you aren't a fan of the origami butterflies, I love the mobile structure that allows you to clip things on.  You could hang pictures, post cards, or about a million other things.  And she found hers at the craft store!

What would you hang from your mobile?

Chair Shelves

I love these shelves that I found at Apartment Therapy:

Or should I say these shelves that I found on Apartment Therapy:

Fairy Wing Favor Boxes

Kim from Frost Me pointed me in the direction of this shabby chic fairy party at Party Starters:

We I immediately fell in love with these fairy treat boxes:

I think I am going to need some of those when we watch the new Tinkerbelle movie that is coming out!! If you want to check out the rest of the cute fairy party treats, you can see them HERE.

Braided (Woven) Ribbon Headbands

While we were in Arizona, we had to stop by and visit our KiKi.  Kiki (whose real name is Kaitlyn) was our go to babysitter in AZ.  We seriously considered stowing her away in one of our suitcases to come live with us in Texas.  Sadly, we had to leave her behind to live with her family, but it was really great to get to see her and her family while we were there.

When we stopped by to see her, she had one of these really cute headbands in her hair:

She had made a ton of them and she was going to teach us how to make them, but we ran out of time.  Luckily I found THIS tutorial on You Tube.  It is a little long (actually two parts, the second part is HERE) but worth it.  I am going to have to make the girl some with her school colors. And then some with team colors when she starts soccer.

Mason Jar Chandelier

In case you didn't see the full post when checking out the Mason Jar Pendant Lights over at Beth's blog yesterday, you need to go check out the Chandelier she made using mason jars:

You can check out her tutorial  HERE.

Mason Jar Pendant Lighting

I have mentioned my obsession with jars on my blog before.  So it should be no surprise that when I saw this Pottery Barn image on The Stories of A to Z I fell in love:

but was even more excited when I found out there was a tutorial on Design Sponge to make your own:

You can see the tutorial HERE and find more reasons to love Beth HERE.

Paintsicles

Love this idea from Clementine Art:

Paintsicles!!!

Found via Craft Gossip.

Paper Sandwich Holders

Cute paper sandwich wraps, this time for little heart sandwiches:

Kelly from Sewing in No Mans Land has a template for these cute heart shaped tea sandwich wrappers that you can download!  think I know what Lou La's sandwich will be wrapped in for the first day of school.

Pictures in a Jar

Layla from The Lettered Cottage blogged about her gorgeous summer mantel:

And my favorite part are the photos that she 'framed' by putting them in jars with glass and star fish:

You can check out the rest of her gorgeous mantel HERE.

What do you put on your mantel for the summer?

Goldfish Trash Bags

These trash bags would be pretty funny to use when cleaning up from your next party:

License Plate Map

I have seen this in a print, but this is the real deal:

And you can find out how C.R.A.F.T  made it with real license plates HERE.

Gumball Reading Timer

I love this idea I found on 30 Handmade Days:

A fun way to get your kids to want to read and to know how long they should read for.  A lot more fun than a regular old kitchen timer.  Even if the kitchen timer is in the shape of a Lego head.

Watermelon

One of the things that I love about the summer is that Watermelon is EVERYWHERE! (including my fridge!!)  And even more than actual watermelon, I love things that LOOK like watermelon!

Here are some fun watermelon themed projects I have found lately.

Watermelon pops:

Not only a fun treat, but a fun way to serve any popsicle!  Or fruit kabobs for that matter.

If you can't wait for Halloween to carve a pumpkin, you might want to carve a watermelon:

Make some cute fondant watermelons to go on top of cupcakes:

Clean up after a long summer day with some watermelon soap:

I would love to eat watermelon out of this gorgeous bowl:

Or make some watermelon pie:

What is your favorite watermelon treat goodie?

Skateboard Shelving

I was actually surprised that the idea for this cute skateboard shelving:

came from Family Fun!  I am used to family friendly projects, but this one is teen friendly!

If you have a skater in your house you can check out how to build your own HERE.

Patchwork Calendar

I have tried about ever way known to man to keep a family calendar. The only one that has really worked for us is the big plain desk calendar hung with about a million magnets to the side of the fridge. It worked in AZ because the side of the fridge also happened to be RIGHT by the front door. Not as crazy as it sounds, I promise.

In this house the sides of the fridge are not accessible. The fridge sort of slides in between a wall and the cupboards. I still don't have a useful place to hang a calendar, so I have to actually keep in on my desk.

Guess what happens when you put your calendar on your desk.

It gets buried in stuff!!

So I am still on the lookout for a new way to calendar and this one from Mish Mash caught my eye:

She sells these patchwork calendars that are cuter than most of my scrapbook pages!  In my mind I am sure that having a calendar this cute would make me want to use it on a regular basis.

What do you think:

You can check them out HERE.
