Candle Light Valentine's Day Dinner
I think this idea that I saw over at While He Was Napping is so beautiful and romantic:
but I am pretty sure that we would start a really big fire if we attempted this in our house. I think I might stick to the floral heart version instead, if I can ever collect enough egg cups:

Wine Glass Lanterns
Remember these wine glass candle lamps:
Well Bonfa is at it again, this time with these gorgeous white wine glass lanterns:
These would have been perfect for your New Year's Eve centerpiece.
And there are a couple dozen other versions you can see on her blog. Head over and check them out, but you are going to need Google Translate!

Turkey Placemats
I love these turkey place mats from My Little Gems:
If you don't have some old place mats lying around you can just use construction paper. If you don't have any paint I bet mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce would work. Or not.

Leaf Print Table Linens
Once Upon a Holiday has a great tutorial for these beautiful leaf print linens:
It is a super kid friendly craft and requires zero paint or ink!

Acorn Flower Box Centerpiece
If you are still looking for a centerpiece for your Thanksgiving table, I love this acron flower box centerpiece I saw on House of Turquoise:
And I also love the turkey plates. I think the images is actually on the bottom plates, but you could print out an image on cardstock and mod podge it to the bottom of the glass plates to get a similar look, or not mod podge it for a temporary look!

No Sew Burlap Table Runners
I love this burlap table runner from Lisa's table last year:
Of course letting it hang at the ends only works if you don't need that space for sitting, but this year is one of those years for me!
Another even simpler option is to add a few festive touches like this runner from Design Sponge:

Carved Squash
Why should pumpkins have all the fun? Paper, Plate & Plane has a tutorial for a carved butternut squash arrangement that makes a beautiful centerpiece:

Fun at the Kids Thanksgiving Table
Being the youngest in my family, I was never fond of the idea of a kids table. But my opinion changed after marrying my husband. The kids table at their house is always full of fun decorations, games and even treats that the big people don't get to share.
I am always on the lookout for something neat to use for the kids table, something that will wow my in-laws. And this year I am pretty sure I have found it at One Charming Party. Actually, I should say I found them. There are a ton of ideas that you need to check out!
My son is almost 10 and I think he will love this boat race:
Kid table worthy, but not to young for a 9-year-old boy. I might have to have them buy milk at lunch and bring the empty cartons home for me.
This paper bag turkey is a cute centerpiece and a fun snack to keep the kids occupied while the real turkey is still cooking:
These corn cobs are also party favors with fun trinkets hidden inside:
They will look great next to the stuffed paper turkey and would also work really well for a farm themed birthday party.
I don't think she is done posting cute ideas for the kids table and I can't see what else she comes up with!

Free Thanksgiving Printables for the Kids Table
Paper Glitter has a very cute Thanksgiving Printable set on their site that I think would be perfect for the kids table at Thanksgiving:
Of course, we might be having Thanksgiving just the five of us this year, so the kids table would actually be THE table, since there are more of them than there are us!
If you love this kit as much as I do, you can download it for free right HERE. And while you are at it, check out the cute Paper Glitter Etsy shop. The ice cream trucks alone are worth a look!

Floating Boat Place Cards
Ruffled is featuring an amazingly fun idea for a place card. It is a boat that floats in a glass of water and it is super cute:
My sister in law is having a baby boy and I am pretty sure I am going to force her to have a boat themed shower. It probably won't be very hard after she sees these cute place cards.

Chalkboard Chargers for Holiday Table Settings
I don't own a single charger. I come from a family that loves dishes, but I actually didn't even know what a charger was until I got married. I guess you could say that the need for chargers was never properly instilled in me. I am charger-less. And I am okay with that. Or at least I was until Jen from Tatertots and Jello posted these chalkboard chargers:
One set of chargers that you can customize for every holiday:
Now, if you are like me and get the heebie jeebies at the though of chalk dust near your food, don't fret! You can use a chalk pens and not only will there be no dust, but the image comes out a heck of a lot cuter and there are a ton of fun colors too!
Go check out the other holiday chargers and make sure you take a look at the super cute ornament place card she made too!

Wine Glass Lamp
Now this is the most clever thing I have seen in a long time:
You can download a template to turn a white glass into a little lamp. What a great way to add light to a centerpiece. You can get the template HERE.

Halloween Centerpieces
This year I am the chair of the committee that throws the Fall Festival at our church. I am super excited to be throwing a gigantic Halloween party, but haven't decided on the centerpieces for the table yet. Read that as I have too many ideas and can't make up my mind!
The real problem is that my heart is set on this:
When it doesn't really fit the group or the budget. *sigh* Such is life. Maybe I will get to help decorate for a reception in the fall someday.
So back to reality I think I am going with something like this from BHG:
Except the cauldron will be a jack-o-lantern, the orange jelly beans will be candy con, and I am not sure what will be hanging from the branches yet. Any suggestions?
Actually, I might hang candy corns on the branches, but then I would need to fill the pumpkins with something else. Hmmmmmm.
Then again, I might just go with something in between these two ideas, like this from Organize and Decorate Everything:
Or the candy topiaries:
Will someone make up my mind for me?
