Somoa Scones
Nicole has immortalized the Somoa girl scout cookie in scone form:
The Somoa is my hubby's favorite girl scout cookies, so I might have to make these heart shaped and add them to the Valentine's Day breakfast menu.
You can head over to Baking Bites to get the recipe.

Girl Scout Cookies Nutritional Information
It is that time of year. The time of year when the cute little Girl Scouts of America try to get you to break all of your New Year's Resolutions.
While looking for an image of the Thanks a Lot cookie (that I think would make a killer s'more, I stumbled across Diets in Review. They have all of the nutritional information for these tasty little treats. I am not going to read it yet because we bought three boxes today.
Thin Mints, Caramel Delights (we know them as Somoas) and Peanut Butter Patties (aka Tag Alongs).
But if YOU want to know than you can see the info HERE.

Gingerbread Girl Cookie Cutter
Cookies and Cups posted about a Gingerbread Girl cookie cutter that she has. I love cookie cutters, but I figured my regular gingerbread man cookie cutter was enough. That was until I saw these cute cookies:
Cute little Girl Scouts! She made cheerleaders too:
And nurses:
That cute bob is just too much to resist. Now I need a gingerbread girl!

Homemade Girl Scout Cookies
Baking Bites is at it again, but this time with RETIRED Girl Scout Cookies:
Last year she posted the recipes for all of the yummiest (but current) Girl Scout Cookies that I posted about HERE. But now she is starting to come up with recipes for some of the cookies that are no longer sold.
Like these Lemon Coolers:
I am going to have to try these, since the Lemon Chalet Creme cookies this year were a little disappointint. So much so that the bakery recalled them. You can get the recipe HERE.

Girl Scout Cookie Recipes
Donna from Party Wishes posted a link to a site that has recipes to make with your Girl Scout cookies. Like Thin Mint Chocolate Cheese Cake and Bourbon Samoa Chess Bars with Tasted Coconut.
I think Girl Scout Cookies are fine just the way they are, but if you have the desire to try to dress them up, you can get the recipes HERE.
And look how cute Donna is:
They send out a thank you note with each order. I feel like I should be thanking THEM for feeding my Girl Scout Cookie addiction.
So what is your favorite Girl Scout Cookie? And would you use a box to bake something else or would that be sacrilege?

Make Your Own Girl Scout Cookies
I sort of have a love affair with Girl Scout Cookies. I am sure part of it has to do with the whole law of supply and demand. I mean you can only get those little boxes of joy once a year! They are special!
When I was in my last semester of college (and pregnant with The Boy) the Girl Scouts had a table on the campus of ASU selling cookies. I am pretty sure they are responsible for about 10 of the lbs I gained during that pregnancy and I was responsible for funding one of those young girls trips to Disneyland or whatever they use their fundraiser funds for. Yes, I ate that many Girl Scout cookies. I once finished of an entire box of TagALongs walking from one end of campus to the other. There are witnesses. And no I did not share my cookies! Sorry Candice.
So, what I did not need to know is that Baking Bites has the recipes to make your own Girl Scout Cookies.
Like Thin Mints
And Samoas

and DoSiDos
And TagALongs (which happen to be the best cookies that ever existed hands down!!)
I may just have to make these for Valentine's Day. For myself of course. Because I don't share Girl Scout Cookies.
