Balloon Cake

I will have to add this to the list of balloon party ideas that I love:

The idea came from Inchmark Journal.  At the same party they opted not to have a pinata and used this instead:

Each of those balloons contains 15 pieces of candy!  I can't wait to hear how she did it!  She hasn't posted it yet, but you can be sure I will link up to it when she does!  All I know is you need a wet/dry vac to do it.

If you want to check out the rest of her great balloon party ideas, you can see them HERE.

Candy Corn Pudding and Parfaits

Kim from Frost Me posted about these yummy candy corn parfaits from Hershey:

which immediately made me miss my sister in law and her very yummy candy corn pudding:

It actually isn't candy corn flavored.  It is butterscotch pudding, banana pudding, and whipped cream.  And it is really good.

Do you have a candy corn treat that you love?

Halloween Stairs

You need a little bit more than just black paper for this, but I love these stairs:

iPod Pop Tart

My iPod has to be in a protective case at all times because I drop it.  I drop it a lot.  And I am not a huge fan of Pop Tarts.  I like them straight out of the box, but not actually toasted.

But this is still a really cute idea and I think one of you Pop Tart loving, non iPod dropping people should use it:

You can get the instructions for this toaster pastry iPod cozy HERE at DIY Network.

Hanging Candy Corn

I am a lover of wreaths, but I have to say that I might actually love things that hang on doors that are not wreaths even more.  What do you call those?  Door hangings?  Door hangers?  Door thing-a-ma-bobbers.  Whatever they are, they are cute!  And these candy corn door hangers from Sew Totally Smitten are the perfect example:

If you love candy corn of the decorative variety as much as I do, than you will want to see the tutorial for these HERE.

Soup Can Storage

We have all seen these handy dandy soup can organizers:

Very handy, but also super pricey.  Instead of investing a small fortune for some of these, Amy from Then She Made came up with this idea:

She used an empty soda fridge pack, prettied it up with some patterned paper, and you have the same concept for a lot less money.  I am wondering what you could do with some fabric and mod podge.

You can see how she made this one HERE.

Party Ice

If you can't think of a fun drink to pep up your party, you can always try pepping up the ice!

Whatever made some really fun rainbow ice, which is perfect for all of the rainbow parties I have seen lately:

Bits of Taste added color and taste to their drink with fruit ice:

Then of course there is always the option of flowers:

And to make al of these even prettier, you can read about how to make your ice crystal clear HERE.

Half a Table

Gail from My rePurposed Life took this table:

and gave it the traditional paint makeover, but then did something a little different.  She cut it in half:

I think this has forever solved the problem of not being able to find matching night stands!   And the best part is that by cutting a table in half you made it look 10 times better.  I am pretty sure that defies some mathematical property!

More S'more Varieties

I have been saving s'more ideas all summer.  Too many ideas.  And summer is almost over.  Not that you can't eat a s'more in the fall or winter, but there are so many fall and winter treats that you have to eat that we just don't have time for s'mores!  So before s'more season is over I have to share them all with you!

I am pretty sure I am going to have to try some S'more Bark:

And A White S'more looks interesting.  Maybe even add a little slice of banana to the party:

And then there are granola thins!  I am going to have to try these out:

Why not try it in pie form:

And if pie isn't enough, what about chocolate cake s'mores cookies:

And if you have pie and cake cookies, then you have to have s'mores with ice cream:

or at least a s'more milkshake:

I don't think we have enough time to get these all in before summer is officially over, but it never hurts to try!   Okay, actually it might hurt to try.  Actually it might kill you.  So please choose wisely!

Party Favors on a Stick

Paper and Cake posted about these cute party favors on a stick:

I wish I would have had the three eyes this summer for my niece's Toy Story 3 party.  And we could have made the speech bubble say something like "The Claw!"

I think this one is my favorite.  Especially the Arrrgh!

And add these to a cape and it will make any little boys day!

They are like the mustaches on a stick that are so popular right now, but more fun than just a mustache!

And the best part is that you can download these for free HERE.

Fun School Lunches

I am not a Bento maker, but I do love finding ways to make my kids lunches fun.  This idea from Just Bento works well for regular lunches as well:

A couple simple stickers and you can add a whole lot of fun to your kids sack lunches!

If you have a little more time you can try your hand at some of these amazing sandwich ideas from Funky Lunch:

And Little Nummies always has a ton of ideas that are fun:

Even if I only have time to just add a note, I always do something to make their lunches contain a little love from home.

What do you do to make your kids school lunches special?

Strawberry Fruit Cups

As if the ice cream cones:

and melon pops:

weren't cute enough, Naomi decided to make cute little strawberry cups:

These treats from Bakers Royale will be perfect for Labor Day weekend.  A nice way to say goodbye to summer and all its beautiful summer berries!

You can see how she created these cute little treats at HERE

Mini Pinecone Frame and Ball

Tracy's Trinkets and Treasures made this cute pinecone frame that I found over at Tatertots and Jello:

And now I must have one.  Hobby Lobby, I will see you tomorrow morning!

If you happen to have some of the little pinecones left over after you make the frame, you can also make a pinecone ball to go with it:

Castle Treehouse

Stop what you are doing RIGHT NOW and head over to At Second Street to check out this amazing castle treehouse that is completely made from old wood:

It is amazing!  But make sure you kids aren't in the room or they will be SUPER jealous!

More Lady Bug Crackers

So I posted these ladybug crackers yesterday:

Well it seems that the ladybug bug is contagious because yesterday I also found these from Taste of Home:

And these at Design Dazzle:

You can see how to make your own HERE.

And if you aren't a fan of tomatoes, you can make this version with pepperoni slices from Hannah's Handmade:

Custom Plate Display

I have fallen more and more in love with plate displays, but I never seem to be able to find what I am looking for.  But then I saw these plates from Honey Scrap at Someday Crafts:

They were inspired by these plates from Pier 1:

The plates are great, but the amazing part is that they started out looking like this:

Boring white plates.  From the dollar store no less!  You can check out her transformation HERE.

Spider Web Tutu

Char from Crap I've Made has made some pretty great stuff with her new Silhouette cutter, but I think this spider web tutu is my favorite:

I think I need one for Halloween!  I think we ALL need one for Halloween!  And if you don't want to wear one for Halloween, I know you want to use it to make a web tutu table cloth, like this one, but with webs:

Or instead of webs you could just but a giant pair of scary yellow eyes!!!  Or a mouth with scary teeth!  I can't wait for Halloween!

Bat Pillow

I love this pillow from Ameroonie Desings

But I think I might need to make a tablecloth or curtains or something bigger than a pillow with this idea because it is too cute!

You can see how she made this cute Halloween throw pillow HERE.

Show and Tell Weekend Wrap Up 8/29/10

Mandi from Vintage Revival made this tea cup clock that is amazing:

I don't even like teacups and I want one!  I bet I could find some really fun teacups to use too!

I need to start wearing more necklaces to dress up some of my boring shirts and this necklace from Buggie and Jellybean would be a great way to add some color:

If you are more into personalizing your jewelry, these silhouette beads from All Things Made by Kelly are perfect:

They would make cute magnets too and I am thinking of making them into little ornaments, but I promise that I will not start talking about Christmas yet!

Sugar Bee shared a recipe for a yummy leomonade cake.  Our Labor Day weekend might have to take on a lemon theme so that I can make these Lemon Puffs too:

Not So Homemade's cute little stools make my boring stools look sad and lonely.  They need some paint and a cute cover like hers:

A Taste of Halloween from Show and Tell Saturday

Some of the Show and Tell Saturday Participants are getting a head start on Halloween and I wanted to share them with you!

I sort of love love love this wreath from Write It Down:

And I can think of a hundred fun ribbons to use to hang it!  Jack-o-lanterns, haunted houses, bats, just about anything!

Closet Crafter made (yes, I said MADE) this cute halloween cat statue:

My mother in law has a set of figurines just like this and I love that I now have a tutorial on how to creat my own!

And this with all of the ideas I love for halloween wreaths and how much I hate my front door, I think I will have to make something for each of the doors inside of my house.  And this spooky tree from Delia Creates will be one of them:

Of course, you could just hang this one on the wall.  You could even make a couple and have an entire forest of spooky trees in your house!
