Crochet Cupcakes
Another reason to learn how to crochet:
I know the girls would want these in their play kitchen, but I want them in my kitchen too! You could even use the same idea for an ice cream scoop! Ice cream and cupcakes, can't get much better!

Crocheted Rainbow Coin Purse
I think I might have to try to remember how to crochet. My grandmother taught me when I was young, although I am pretty sure I only ever learned how to make a really long chain. My mother is actually really great at it. I have a blanket on my couch that she made for me that I love. So I might have her try to teach me how to crochet in a circle so that I can make this:
And although that would make a cute coaster or a pretty pot holder, you can also go to Sparkle Petal and find out how to make it into a cute coin purse:
And I could say that I want to make them for my girls, because I know both of my girls would love them, but I sort of just want one for me!

Fruity Pot Holders
Sometimes I pretend like I can sew, but there is no way that I can even pretend like I know how to crochet one of these:
So I am going to have to either talk my mom into making me some while I am in Arizona or wait for someone to make a set and put them on Etsy because I need these. And not just because the pot holders I have in my kitchen drawer are old and a strange mix of Winnie the Pooh and Christmas.
Hopefully someone will take pity on my sad, sad pot holder drawer and tell me where I can get a set!

Crochet Edge Burb Cloths
When I had my youngest, I received some gorgeous burp clothes that had been made by women I went to church with. Some had beautiful tatting around the edges (which I don't know how to do) and some had a cute crochet edge like this:
Rachel from Blooming Mommy has a great tutorial on her blog that shows you how to make a crocheted edge to dress up a burp cloth. Because let's be honest, when you have a new baby and are covered in baby puke, you take 'cute' anywhere you can get it! Luckily the baby usually supplies some too!

Crochet Chain
This crochet paper chain from Love Stitches is much cuter than it's paper cousin:
But I would never cut off the chains, which is sort of the purpose of the paper chain. So now I am torn.
I guess you could make it so that the ends attach by velcro, but I don't think that would look the same.
I wonder if you could use this as a scarf?
I will stop rambling now!

Crochet Barbie Dress
I do not crochet, but I had to post this crochet Barbie dress from Crochet spot:
If you crochet you can get the pattern at the Crochet Spot. The reason I had to post it is because my Barbie had a crochet dress. Two actually. A pink one and a blue one. With matching hats. My dresses covered up a little more Barbie though. My grandmother crocheted them for my older sisters and they got handed down to me. One of them, the blue one, even made its way into Lou La's Barbie collection. Ah! Memories.
Did you ever cut your Barbies hair? I cut mine ALL of the time. I had a ton of Barbies because I was the youngest grandchild on my dad's side of the family, so everyone would give the toys to me when they out grew them. I honestly think I had about 30 Barbies. And I think at least 20 of them had hair cuts a la Lorie. I will have to ask my mom to be sure, but I don't think I ever cut my own hair. So maybe it is a good idea to let your kids cut Barbie's hair.

It is a good thing I don't crochet.
Because I would buy this pattern from Etsy and then there would be on more unfinished project in my house. Isn't it really cute though!
And I might have to find someone that knits (or crochets...there is a pattern for both) to make this for Toots for her first birthday!
