Hanging Cookie Cutters
A couple of years ago I fell in love with a bunch of Christmas ornaments that were just metal cookie cutters, dusted with glitter, and hung with ribbon.
Craftomaniac did something similar in her kitchen for Valentine's Day that I love just as much:
Some big gingham ribbon and a a heart shaped cookie cutter are all you need. The only problem is that I use my heart cookie cutter everyday on Lou La's sandwiches. I might have to find a second heart shaped cookie cutter.

Homemade Wrapping Paper
Helping Little Hands posted about a project that uses two of my very very Very VERY favorite things. That is four verys, so you know I am serious. These are two things I truly believe no home, especially one with kids, should be without.
Do you know what they are? I will give you a hint. Neither of them are made by Apple. Now THAT is saying something!
They are butcher paper and cookie cutters.
If I ever lost my mind and became one of those people that gets rid of everything and lives with only 100 possessions than I would have to give up socks or something so that I could keep cookie cutters and butcher paper around.
And here is an example of why I love them both:
You can do a MILLION things with them. I wonder if that is an exaggeration. Maybe I will have to do a series next year and see if I can come up with a million uses for them. That would be a LOT of butcher paper. And a lot of posts. Like 2,740 posts a DAY! And that is a lot even for ME!
Polly used them to make wrapping paper. She used the cookie cutters as stamps and dipped them in paint and stamped them on the butcher paper.
And talk about a kid friendly craft! Or elf friendly even.

Reindeer Sandwich
I have been cutting Lou La's sandwich in a heart shaped since the start of school this year. It was something my grandmother used to do for me when I was in school and it is one of my favorite memories. The Boy even let me cut his sandwich in a heart shape this week.
Thanks to Little Nummies, I can use the same heart cookie cutter I have been using all year, but turn both of my kids sandwiches into these reindeer:
And I am pretty sure non of The Boy's friends will even notice it is a heart!

Handprint Turkey Cookies
I didn't think I would find cuter turkey cookies than these:
But Bee in our Bonnet is trying really hard to outdo herself with these:
Those colorful chocolate dipped sunflower seeds make the perfect feathers!
She made these cute cookies without a cookie cutter, so check out her tutorial HERE.

Turkey Cookies Without a Turkey Cookie Cutter
Be In Our Bonnet made these cute turkey cookies:
And I am not sure what I like better, the fact that you actually get FOUR cookies instead of one, or that you don't need a turkey cookie cutter to make these cute turkeys.
You can check out her tutorial HERE.

Cookie Cutter Cheese
We found out a couple of days ago that we will be alone for Thanksgiving. First time ever. I am a little sad (we will not talk about the fact that my oven is not big enough to cook both a turkey and side dishes) but I am also excited too. Being away from family will not be fun, but this will be the first major holiday we have ever spent alone in the 12 years we have been married.
So I am looking forward to starting our own tradition. My husband is already trying to talk me into going on a trip, but my only plans so far involve cheese:
I don't know where we will be or who we will be with, but we will have cheese and crackers as an hors d'oeuvre so that I can cut my cheese into cute pumpkin shapes like this fun snack form Smashed Peas and Carrots.
You have to start somewhere, right?
I am not sure that cheese and crackers are actually fancy enough to be called an hors d'oeuvre, but cutting them out with a cute cookie cutter has to help elevate them a little.
And if you have the cute little cookies cutters (the miniature size) that you will need to make these, you should use them to make homemade croutons for your salad in fun shapes too. I think my sister-in-law refers to her Halloween croutons and Boo-tons.
