Seriously? S'Mores

Before you go spending $8.99 on this gadget on Amazon to microwave your S'Mores, I want to let you in on a little trick.
Re you ready...
You can microwave S'Mores with OUT a gadget and keep your $8.99. Stick a marshmallow on a graham cracker and nuke it for 30 seconds. Watch it. It is pretty cool and if you have kids they will REALLY enjoy it! The marshmallow balloons up and when it gets so big you think it is going to pop, STOP the microwave. Take it out. Put the chocolate and second half of the graham cracker and enjoy.
I am pretty sure you could even burn it in the microwave if you are one of those people that like to do that...but I wouldn't recommend it.
Another fun way to cook S'Mores is over a candle. Hubby's cousin got married last year and they had a S'Mores bar. Lots of candles and goodies to make S'Mores. It was pretty clever!

More S'more Varieties
I have been saving s'more ideas all summer. Too many ideas. And summer is almost over. Not that you can't eat a s'more in the fall or winter, but there are so many fall and winter treats that you have to eat that we just don't have time for s'mores! So before s'more season is over I have to share them all with you!
I am pretty sure I am going to have to try some S'more Bark:
And A White S'more looks interesting. Maybe even add a little slice of banana to the party:
And then there are granola thins! I am going to have to try these out:
Why not try it in pie form:
And if pie isn't enough, what about chocolate cake s'mores cookies:
And if you have pie and cake cookies, then you have to have s'mores with ice cream:
or at least a s'more milkshake:
I don't think we have enough time to get these all in before summer is officially over, but it never hurts to try! Okay, actually it might hurt to try. Actually it might kill you. So please choose wisely!

S'mores Bars
I found this Paula Deen recipe on P is for Party. And although it is probably the 60th post with the word S'mores in the title, I couldn't resist. I mean...they are called S'mores. Some more's. So there will be S'more recipes in the future.

S'mores Bars
makes about 2 dozen
What you need:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease an 8-inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar with an electric mixer at medium speed, until creamy. Add egg and vanilla; beat until combined.
In a small bowl, combine flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking powder and salt. Add to butter mixture, and beat until combined. Press half of dough in the pan, spreading evenly. Lay chocolate bars on top of dough, breaking apart as needed to create an even layer of chocolate. Spread marshmallow creme over chocolate bars.
Spread remaining dough over marshmallow creme and chocolate bars. Bake 30 to 35 minutes, depending on your oven temperature (I took mine out after 25 minutes).

X and O S'mores
I love these cute valentine s'mores from Williams Sonoma:
And if you have ever tried one of their s'mores you know they are worth every penny. But if you don't want to spend your pennies on s'mores, you could at least steal the cute x and o idea for a treat of your own. If you don't have a cookie cutter you could use a sqeeze bottle and melted chocolate to draw Xs and Os on wax paper and then use sandwich some ice cream in between!

S'mores Bars
Digging through my archives I found this recipe for S'mores bars that I posted on this date last year:
These are Paula Deans S'mores bars, so you know they are good.
Ironically I had already planned to post these today:
They are from See Jane in the Kitchen. With a little research I found out that she tweaked it from a recipe that she found on a blog, that got it from a blog, that got it from a blog, that used the exact same recipe! I think the blog universe is telling me I need to make these again. But this time I will be using Jane's recipe.
Look how gooey and yummy they look. S'mores are supposed to be ooey and gooey. I love Paula, but her picture looks like they came out of a package.

S'mOreo [S'mores + Oreo]
Oreo S'more
We are eternally on the hunt for the best s'more combinations. Don't get me wrong, the traditional combination of graham cracker, chocolate, and marshmallow is pretty perfect, but you can spend an entire summer finding fun ways to recreate this iconic combination.

More S'mores
We are always on a S'mores kick around here. At this moment, in my pantry, I have a box of these:
which are big family favorites. They are really good! Like way too good! Target sells their own brand and they are even better! We also have a bag of these:
They are good, but they don't taste anything like a S'more. Not even a little bit. They taste like graham crackers and chocolate graham crackers mixed with Lucky Charm Marshmallows. I even tried putting them in my mouth at the same time. Then tried different combinations of them. No luck. Not s'mores.
And we also have all of the needed ingredients for s'more brownies and s'more bars because I haven't decided if I am going to go with something new or stick with an old favorite for The Last Picnic.
And as if that wasn't enough, I found these over at Pickup Some Creativity:
She got the recipe over at Everyday Foods. Now I think I might have to make all three. If I don't post tomorrow you will know I died from S'more overdose.
I will miss you.
The End!
