Doily Snowflakes
I have spent the past couple days making paper snowflakes. For my son's school party there will be a ton of paper snowflakes hanging from the ceiling. Some I have cut with my Silhouette, others using this tutorial, and some I have even let my kids cut. But after all that I had the biggest "Why didn't I think of that moment?" when I saw this beautiful garland that Naomi made:
She used doilies instead of paper to make the snowflakes. That way each one had a intricate lace design at the edge. Beautiful and pretty darn clever!
You can see the tutorial on how to cut these doily snowflakes at Hello Naomi.

Felt Christmas Light Garland
Growing up we always had the large colorful Christmas lights lining our roof. I loved those lights. That is probably why I love this felt Christmas light garland I found over ant I Art U:
Until the kids and I can talk my husband into colored lights (he prefers all white lights outside) I will have to settle for looking at these!
Do you like the colored lights or are you an all white light person like my Hubby?

Five Point Snowflakes
Jess from How About Orange makes some gorgeous snowflakes. She has used them in a garland:
and to embellish her gift wrap:
And you can find out how to make gorgeous snowflakes like these HERE.
The snowflakes that will be hanging from my son's classroom ceiling for their Winter party are now going to be 100 times better looking than they would have been. Thanks Jess!

Wax Paper Garland
Beth from The Stories of A to Z made this gorgeous faux Capiz shell garland for her Christmas tree using wax paper:
It look beautiful on her tree and has me thinking. I love the way the wax paper reflects the light and I think it would be neat to use the same idea, but with snowflakes.
And I wonder if you can sew wax paper? Anyone have any experience?
And while you are over at Beth's blog, check out the snowy pinecone ornaments she made too:

Gingerbread House Garland
Gorndon Gossip posted about this cute gingerbread garland that you can buy at Crate & Barrel:
It even comes with caramels inside. But I am pretty sure you could make a cute one of your own with some tissue box houses:

Felt Ball Garland
Jordan Ferney from Oh Happy Day ordered felt balls from Ornamentea (the 2cm size):
and used them to make her own felt ball garland:
I love the rainbow garland. You could find a reason to keep it up all year! But you could also make a more traditional green and red one for Christmas.

Paper Ornament Garland
Bookity calls this garland her paper onion garland:
I love the colors of maps, so these are pretty as paper map onions, but if you were to dress them up in Christmas colors they would make a very pretty paper Christmas ornament garland.
