Haunted House Lighting
Life in the Fun Lane posted some of the super cool things she has done to her house to spook it up for Halloween. My favorites are the black cheese cloth added to the lamp:
(I didn't even know cheese cloth CAME in black!) and the table of candles to add an eery glow to the room:
I can't wait until my little ones are a little older so I can have a table full of candles like this without worrying about them. For now I think I might try this spooky (fake) dripping candle idea from Annie Rose's House because I can use the battery powered tea lights:
You can see the rest of her Halloween decor HERE.

Irrational Halloween Wishlist 2010
Last year I started posting my irrational halloween wishlist. The irrational wishlist is things that would be so fun to have, but would be silly just to buy or do for Halloween. Things like buying a black leather couch to drape spooky torn cheese cloth over:
Now if you have a black leather couch, this isn't irrational at all. Even if you wanted a black leather couch it wouldn't be too bad. But I don't like leather couches personally. Just for Halloween. It also includes painting your front door and all of your dining room chairs orange.
My list has started already this year. And it includes and orange beetle:
and a couple hundred pumpkins:

and it is only the beginning of September. Heaven help us if we ever win the lottery.
What is on your irrational Halloween decoration list?

Picnic Food Covers
If you are having one last outdoor party for Labor Day, Martha has a clever way to keep the bugs out of the good stuff:
Some cheesecloth and an embroidery hoop. I love finding new uses for stuff like embroidery hoops.

Lowe's Creative Halloween Ideas
Lowe's has a very fun site (and magazine) dedicated to Do It Yourself projects. They always have some fun ideas, and Halloween is no different. Here are some of my favorite ideas from their site.
Spooky curtains made out of cheesecloth soaked in coffee:

A candy corn bucket made from a plastic pail and electrical tape:
And the cute little ghosts made from cheese cloth and white plastic buckets.
Or these ghosts made from a tomato cage and a drop cloth:

These really fun tombstones made of foam board and stone spray paint:

And the gigantic spider web made from friction tape:

I love them ALL!
