Valentine's Day Pizza
We traditionally have a big family dinner for Valentine's Day. Since it falls on a Monday this year, I think we may move the party to the weekend, but I will still want to do something fun (but low key) on Monday. I am thinking a heart pizza might be in order:
I know a couple of pizza places around here have sold heart shaped pizzas in the past. We bought one from Papa Murphy's last year and I believe that Papa John's sells them too. But if you want to make one of your own, Flying High Pizza has a tutorial on how to make a heart shaped pizza.
Or you can take a small heart shaped cookie cutter to a package of pepperoni like these from One Charming Party and have a very cute alternative:
Do you have special plans for a family Valentine's Day dinner?

Tomato Soup
We always have tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches for Halloween. I might have to make it a Valentine's tradition too. Maybe lunch:
Don't have a bottle like this, you can cut the corner off of a sandwich bag and do the same thing, but the next time you see clear bottles like these, pick one up.
Or two.
Or a dozen.
They are cheap and there are a lot of fun things you can do with them. Like making hearts on tomato soup. Or decorating desert plates with chocolate to make them fancy. Decorating sugar cookies using the flood method. Filling them with syrup and letting your kids decorate their pancakes with them! (This is super fun if you us jellies too! Then they can decorate their pancakes with different colors!!) Lots of other things too! Get some!

Pink Bread

The first Pink and Red dinner I had at my in-law's house included a sandwich made with pink bread. It was a layered sandwich and it was frosted in cream cheese. It was delicious, but confusing. It looked like one big cake!
If you want pink bread for your Valentine's Day, ask the bakery at your local grocery store if they will make it for you. Or your local bakery. Or you can make your own!! Or if you forget until Valentine's Day morning then put red food coloring in milk, brush it on the bread, and then toast it. Not as pink, but it will do in a pinch!
