Chocolate Pepper*mint* Cookies

I absolutely do not need to eat any more sugar before Christmas.  Or New Years.  Or EVER!  But these cookies from Amy at The Idea Room look really good:

She uses store bought cookies and dresses them up with some white chocolate and crushed candy canes.  I think I might have to remember this idea for Valentine's Day.  I am sure there won't be too much sugar for Valentine's Day!

Cupcakes in a Cup

I am not stranger to cupcakes in a jar, but if you are making cupcakes in large quantity, like Ash did for a bake sale, they can get a little pricey.  So I love how she modified the idea and used these plastic cups:

Obviously you can't bake them in the plastic cup, but they do make for a beautiful presentation.

She used the recipe for peppermint fudge cupcakes from Our Best Bite:

And you can check out her cute cup wrapping idea over at Stuff By Ash.

Candy Cane Cake Pops

Hostess with the Mostest tried her hand at some simple cake pops:

and dressed them up for the holiday with some crushed candy canes and a candy cane striped stick (my favorite part!)  You can see how she made her cake pops and the sticks HERE.

Pretty Peppermint Projects

Red and white are my two favorite colors, but oddly enough I don't have a lot of peppermint themed Christmas decorations.  I might have to change that.  Here are some fun projects with the pretty red and white peppermint theme.

Such a cute peppermint Pillow from Char at Crap I've Made:

This felt peppermint twist garland from the Purl Bee that I want for my tree:

Peppermint sugar cookies from Bake at 350:

A Peppermint Purse from Deeply Fabulous:

A great peppermint wreath from Fudge Ripple:

and my girls need some peppermint clippies like these ones from MSSJCreations:

And if you are looking for treats using peppermint candies you can check those out HERE.

Is there anything else perfectly peppermint that I have missed?

Peppermint Candy

Martha Stewart has some really fun ideas for using peppermint in your holiday candy making.

These peppermint icicles are a complicated candy recipe, but if you are up for pulling candy it would be a fun one to try:

I haven't gotten over my fear of melted sugar (culinary napalm as coined by Alton Brown) so I am going to stick with something like decorating fudge with peppermint candies:

Or maybe truffles:

But I might have to get over the melted sugar thing because these peppermint twigs would make some pretty cool hot cocoa stirrers:
