Plantable Paper Flowers

So I saw this cute paper flower from How Does She on My Collection of Ideas:

It said they were plantable flowers, but I couldn't figure out what that meant.  It took checking out the original post HERE to figure out that they actually glued some seeds to the paper (using a paste made from flour and water) so that you can bury the paper flower in the ground and read flowers will grow.  Pretty clever!  It will be great for next spring!

Amanda's Pretty Pink Tulip Cake

I love tulips.  They are my favorite flower.  And I love Amanda.  She is my favorite cake with cute surprises hidden in side baker.  So I am going to pretend like she made this cake for me:

Because this is the surprise you get inside:

Flower Pancakes

Not Martha reminded me of this post when she posted about these pretty flower pancakes:

You might want to pass a link to this post on to your kids for Mother's Day, or check out Kim's version for Father's Day:

Baskin-Robbins Mother's Day Purses

A crazy fact about my hubby and I, we have always, unintentionally, lived really close to a Baskin-Robbins.  Maybe it is more subconscious than unintentional.  We might have to figure that out. And by really close I mean a person who didn't like ice cream as much as we do could actually walk there.

So being in love with "31 Flavors" the way that I am, I thought I would show you these cute purses that they have for Mother's Day:

If my nieces are reading this, you need to get your mother one of these for Mother's Day.  I think the two things my sister loves the most (minus her children of course) are designer purses and peanut butter chocolate ice cream from "31 Flavors".

And poor her, she doesn't live close to one.

Bacon Egg and Cheese McMuffin Cup

Dear Hubby,

If you are planning on serving me breakfast in bed for Mother's Day (which you have ever other year since I became a mom...so I am pretty sure you will) I would like to give you a suggestion:

And I think it will be a lot easier to clean up after than the Spanglish Sandwich (which I wouldn't mind either).

You can get the recipe from The Picky Palate.

Sincerely,

Your Wife

PS - You only need to buy the English Muffins and the precooked bacon.  We have the cheese and eggs and juice.  You might want to pick up some Strawberries too or some other fun breakfast fruit that I like.

Tea Towel Cake

I saw this cute cake on UCreate:

It is like a diaper cake that you give at a baby shower, but full of fun kitchen stuff for a bridal shower or wedding gift.  It is also a fun gift for anyone who needs some fun new kitchen gadgets!

You can see the tutorial of how to make this HERE at Aly and Ash.

Glass Tile Photo Necklace

Emily at Not So Idle Hands made there really cute photo necklaces for her Mother's Day gifts.  I am going to repeat her warning that if you are her mother, her mother-in-law, or her grandmother not to look!!!

I mean it!

Not that I think her entire family reads my blog.  Well, maybe they do.  Emily refers a lot of people from her blog to mine.  Or maybe she just comes a bunch of times a day.  Either way I don't want to ruin anyone's Mother's Day surprise.  So if you would be getting a Mother's Day gift from Emily for any reason, stop reading now and go enter to win the $50 gift card to keep yourself busy.

But it is too cute not to share with the rest of you.  You all are allowed to look:

It reminds me of the really cute scrabble tile necklaces that I always think I want to learn to make, but I like the size of this one.  A little bigger, which works better for photos.

And her shirt is cute too!  But as far as I know there is not a tutorial on how to make that on her blog.

She gives a great tutorial for the photo tile though, even telling you what type of paper is going to work pest to print the pictures on.  She is so helpful, that Emily!

You can see the tutorial HERE.  But if you are her mother/mother-in-laws/grandmothers, don't go there either.

Post It Note Art

I found this on Design Sponge:

It is part of a Post It Note Project.  How fun would it be to leave a birthday message for someone out of post it notes!

This reminds me of the messages people used to leave in chain link fences with styrofoam cups on the freeway overpasses in Mesa:

I think either would be fun to get for Mother's Day too!  And if you go with the post it notes, you could take them down and reuse them when you were done.  Or just use them while they are still decorating your fridge!
