Utensil Wall Art

Utensil Wall Art via A Month to Win It

Craft Blogging competitions are all over the place these days and A Month To Win It is one of the newest ones that I know of.  One of the entries this week has to be my favorite use of old silverware EVER!  One of the contestants took some old silverware, painted it, and then framed using upholstery remnants as the backing.  Love it!

I think old silverware might be my new chalkboards.

You can check out the rest of this weeks projects HERE.

I made something like this and hung it our kitchen. I collect old silverware from flea markets- whatever pieces catch my eye. I bought a metal plaque from Hobby Lobby, and glued small magnets to the back of each piece. Then just stick em to the plaque. It's very convenient since I keep adding to my collection. It looks very much like the project you show above. I am going to spray paint them copper though because they keep tarnishing, and are up too high for me to clean regularly. My favorite piece is one I found in Wisconsin that had my initials engraved on it.

This is a fantastic idea for those pieces way too pretty to curl-up into wind chimes. Love it!
