Rice Krispy Treat Wedding Cake

I found this on Edible Crafts:

And although I don't see anyone I know using that as their wedding cake, I do know people (including my nephew) who don't eat Glutten, and a rice krispie treat cake could be a really fun substitute for a birthday party!

It could even be frosted to look like a "normal" cake.

Love the creativity in this.. just think .. you could dip it in candy melts and have it a mix of beautiful spring colors.. or even make it a modern sculpture with waves of pastel colors. Besides birthdays, you could have it for dress-up playdates.

And if you make it with homeade marshmallow...the thing would be Y-U-M-M-Y!

If there was fondant on the outside no one would know it's not a "real" cake.

I had a rice krispy wedding cake! I had white fondant on the outside and it looked just like a normal cake :) It was yummy too!

I made a cake like this for my daughters bday one year. Sooo easy, but you need a lot of cereal and marshamallows.

You can use pillars and all sorts of fancy stuff without any problem.

I wish i would have seen this a few months ago my cousin got married and wanted a rice crispy treat cake and her mom gave it a big veto because she said it couldn't be classy but look at this!

That would be such a fun cake...not for a wedding, but for other things :) One thing, though...Rice Krispies are NOT gluten free. They have barley malt. You can find gluten free ones at a health store, though. Of course they will have a different name :) I usually make gluten free treats with Rice Chex instead, but that wouldn't make a pretty cake like this!

If I was getting married at my age today..I would totally do this.

Cool! My oldest has asked for rice krispies in lieu of a cake for his bday before...maybe this year I'll make him a cake shaped one!

Oh sweet mercy this cake made me laugh (and brought back some great memories). When my now 26 year old niece was younger, I made her a rice krispie treat birtday cake every year. I'd mix up the pans from year to year (sheet cake, round layer cake, square layer cake, heart cake et al) and kept the decoration simple (she wasn't a big frosting fan) but it was her all time fave. I sent her a link to this post and can't wait to her what she thinks. I have a feeling a r.k.t. wedding cake is in her future! Thanks for inspiration-You Rawk!

What kid wouldn't like a rice krispie cake. You could also make it chocolate by adding cocoa in the mix.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.
