Growth Chart

There is something almost romantical (yes, I know that isn't a real word) about marking your kids heights on the inside of the pantry door. The only problem is that when you pack up your house and move to Texas you can't take your pantry door with you.

I knew I should have made a cute growth chart on a long 1x6. Or, used this cute idea from Becca at Blue Cricket Design and used an old cabinet door:

I know what my first project is in the new house.

You still need to come over and see all my Texas stuff...and I need to tell you an coincidental story.

Oh Thank You so much for your kind comments about my blog post. I just blog because its so much fun for me and to keep in touch with relatives. I appreciate the fact that someone "else" outside of my small bloggy circle actually thought something I did was worthwhile. I appreciate the comment...and look forward to keeping up with your creativity!

This is great! I've been wanting to make one for my girls, but hadn't found a pattern I liked. This is nice and simple.

This is a great project--one that I wish my parents had done years and years ago. They are in the process of packing up their home of 40 years--the only home I lived in growing up--to move to a smaller one and one of the dear things they'll be leaving behind is the growth chart on the basement doorway. It not only has the measurements of my brothers and myself as we were growing, but now it has every grandchild's measurement as well. Makes me sad...

I have had this one on my project list for 3 years. Maybe one of these days I will do it!
