Black Cake Stand

Toots birthday cake needs a black cake stand. Like this one:

or this one:
Or this one:
But alas I do not have any of those. Nor do I have time to order them online and get them here by...well today. And the three stores I looked at didn't have black cake stands. Not even Target. Doesn't Target have everything?

So while I was at Target I picked up this black plate and bowl for just over $4:

With a little hot glue I have a cake stand:

Not quite as cute as the others, but functional and it HERE!

Oh! We carved pumpkins last night. We used the BHG jack-0-lantern generator you posted about a few days ago. WHAT A HIT! Everyone loved it, and our pumpkins are darn cute. thanks for the link!

Awesome!!!! As I was reading down this post I wanted to scream out to you what I just did similarly the other day. I will post a pic tomorrow. But I took a nice plate on clearance and affixed it to a candlestick for a little cake plate/serving pedestal. So cool. Yours looks awesome. Since we're on the subject, I didn't have a hot gun, only super glue. What is the advantage of the hot glue? Is it better? Thanks!!!!!!

love this idea! I will keepthis in mind when I need a special cake stand

I am sure the super glue works just as well. I used hot glue because it worked and I had it on hand! ;D I was going to use Gorilla glue (like super glue) if the hot glue didn't work. But it did!

Desperate times call for desperate measures. That was great quick thinking. Why is it that when you are looking for something, you can't find it? After her birthday, you'll see a ton of black cake stands.

Great idea! You can never get a cake stand for $4! I don't have one at all and feel so deprived, but I DO have a Target gift card! Yay!! :)
