Carving Pumpkins

We finally got around to carving our pumpkins last night. (A couple of days late...things have been crazy!!) I didn't get any good pictures of the kids cleaning the pumpkin out. I was elbow deep in pumpkin goop.

After the pumpkin was cleaned out the kids helped me roast the seeds. Usually they each get their own pumpkin, but because we just got back from vacation, we opted to tone it down and be a one pumpkin family this year.

And the one pumpkin was carved by Hubby. The kids helped him decide on the design, but after that he took over. It is sort of his thing. And since the kids really are not old enough to wield sharp objects we let it be his thing. Next year we will have to go back to multiple pumpkins.

Toots entertained herself (and us) by trying to wear a bowl that was too small for her head. She would take one step, it would fall off. She would spin around, pick it up, put it on her head and the cycle would start again. I have about 100 pictures of it, but I will spare you!

And when Hubby was done, he turned all the lights off for the big reveal.

And then we forgot to stick it outside!
