Christmas is coming...

and if you are like me you usually end up with one or two of these when it is over.

And if you are like me, Christmas isn't even over before you toss them in the garbage, re-gift them, give them to DI/Goodwill, or find some other way to just get them out of your house.

Only one tin has ever made it past the holiday season. I have had it for 10 years. It is beat up and in my craft closet in the garage. It holds all my Christmas bows. No others have survived.

That is until THIS YEAR! This year I have a cute little project I want to do with them thanks to Pink and Polka Dot!

Again, all it really takes is spray paint! Why on earth I haven't caught on to this fact earlier is beyond ME! I have decided that spray paint is to home decor what duct tape is to repairs!

You can check out her post about the tins here, but basically she spray paints them, does and ink transfer (which sounds harder than it is) and they end up looking like this:

Pink Polka Dot, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

This cute idea is making it's way around blogland. I've also seen them with the words Cat Food and Dog Treats.

GREAT idea for storage! Thank you so much for sharing! I never know what to do with those. Last year's cans ended up being Garbage Cans in the kids' rooms.

Christine, garbage cans are not a bad idea either! And with a little spray paint they could be pretty cute garbage cans!!

I have been looking for cans so I could do this. I have never wished for popcorn for Christmas so much in my life. :)

My New fetish with these types of tins and even the little glass jars is to paint them with the chalkboard paint. Then I can easily change the labels with whatever I am into at the moment! Right now it is different types of Chai tea, but who knows what I'll have in them tomorrow- Also great for Scrapbook or craft room organization!
