Ice Sculptures

My oldest daughter is supposed to make an ice sculpture as part of her homework this week.  I was trying to be cool like Amy and I thought we could do something fun like a tall rainbow striped tower or add things inside the ice like these blocks from  Craftberry Bush:

I should have known she wouldn't go for it.  She loves art and is super creative, but if her teacher didn't tell her she could do it, she won't even consider it.

This is the same girl that at age 4 freaked out that I tried to buy snacks at the store for the snack basket because her teacher said that she should fill the basket with snacks from HOME.  After a ten minute discussion I finally had to call Ms. Renay and have her explain that it was okay to buy the snacks at the store.

I sent an email to her teacher and hopefully we will still have time to do something fun with our ice sculpture.

Snow Paint

Amy from The Idea Room seriously gets my vote for the funnest mom in the world.  She is always coming up with really great activities for her kids, and the best part is that they are SUPER easy to pull off!  So you know she isn't all stressed out after putting them together for her kids.

We don't have snow on the ground, or I would be using this idea for snow paint:

Food coloring and water.  How much easier can you get?  And I know that my kids would think this was the funnest thing in the world.  I will have to remember this if we get a day of snow on the ground like we did last year.

Snowman Glove Dryer

I don't live where it snows, and I am going to cross my fingers that I never do, but for those of you that have to bundle up for the winter, this clever snowman glove dryer from Sugar Bee might come in handy:

She made this little guy out of PVC and not only is it a great way to get them dry it is a great way to keep them all in one place!!  I am pretty sure I would have a few extra hours every week if I could ALWAYS find my kids shoes when I needed them!
