Doily Snowflakes

I have spent the past couple days making paper snowflakes.  For my son's school party there will be a ton of paper snowflakes hanging from the ceiling.  Some I have cut with my Silhouette, others using this tutorial, and some I have even let my kids cut.  But after all that I had the biggest "Why didn't I think of that moment?" when I saw this beautiful garland that Naomi made:

She used doilies instead of paper to make the snowflakes.  That way each one had a intricate lace design at the edge.  Beautiful and pretty darn clever!

You can see the tutorial on how to cut these doily snowflakes at Hello Naomi.

I'm a teacher and my kids went crazy for the snowflakes!! I used them to decorate my door and hung them from the ceiling. We also ended up with them on every desk and the wall!! I like the doily idea thanks for sharing!

I use coffee filters because they are a good shape to start with and so light weight (and cheap) but I may have to do doilies next year.
