I remember the horrible flat plastic costumes that were popular in the 80's. I begged and begged my mom not to make me a lovely pretty costume so that I could have one - a police woman. Needless to say, I went back to my mom's gorgeous pieces the next year...
My brother had the Monster one - wow - that brought back some memories - I was a witch that year - homemade beautiful costume that my mom made AND she let me wear one of her old wigs with it. I was scary!
