Balloon Family Photos

I am going to assume that everyone knows Stephanie Nielsen.  If not you need to grab a box of tissue and spend the next couple of hours reading her story HERE.  It will make you want to be a better person.  I promise.  But you might get dehydrated from crying so much all at once.  It is a very inspiring story.

She just posted her most recent family pictures, and I love that she used giant balloons:

I have seen some great ideas for balloons lately, and I love them all.  Including these great giant balloons they used in their family photos.  I sort of want to copy the idea.  I think last year one of the big trends in photography were fun bright colored suckers.  We were total followers of that trend last year:

so why not continue!

What is your favorite photo prop to use for family photos?

This is such a great idea--I guess I missed that trend of using suckers in the photo. But I am soooo using that with my kids the next time we do a photo shoot!

I love the balloon idea in Nie's pics. It's esp cute knowing that they release balloons on their birthdays.

Shadow Case, suckers work really well, especially with little kids, because they keep them occupied and they don't try to crawl away! You still have to be quick though, because eventually they eat enough of the sucker that the suckers aren't cute and they are sticky!!

I love the idea of giving the kids something to hold or do! That candy is such a perfect prop!!

Didn't know the suckers were a prop trend...although it doesn't surprise me that I'd do something trendy by mistake (we used the big lollypops for our header since the kids got them at a party).

Since I *love* candids and outdoor photos, I really want to do some individual shots of the kids blowing bubbles. It's cute when the kids are little, but it's just plain *fun* when they're a older.

You have the cutest kids I have ever seen in my life. And that includes judging against my own.
