Button Garland

I have bought the mix from Joann's and used a coupon so I got a bunch of colorful buttons for about $2.50. I bet if you strike it rich at DI or a garage sale you could get a better deal and more interesting buttons.
I would say ebay or etsy. You could probably get lots of cheap buttons.
I looked at those pictures. OH MY GOODNESS! I want to make a table runner just like theirs.

Check out Salvation Army. They have OODLES in ziplock bags for super cheap at mine. If you want...I can go check prices for you. Just let me know...I would be more than happy to.

I'm always amazed at the things you find (amazed recently since I didn't find you that long ago). I have found sacks of buttons at my dollar store. Good luck to you!
