Oh, and just a tree completely made of pine cones:

Pine cones are not that plentiful in these parts, and I don't imagine they are in Texas, so I might have to stick with something simple like this from For The Love of my Home:
I am pretty sure I can rustle up a half dozen pine cones and some fake snow.

I love it! I have a LOVE for pinecones! Thanks for sharing...
These are great. This being my first Christmas as a married, non-college kid, we are BROKE and have no Christmas decorations. I have a big bag of pine cones I gathered up JUST for this purpose.
It's like you know my mind...
Oooh, that pinecone garland is beautiful!
Pine cones, I got! :D And for a trick for cheap, fake snow, come over to my blog! ;D

East Texas has a lot of pine cones and pine trees! Kelly
I made a pine cone tree (knock off of one I saw in Target this year).

I also made my own tree ornaments from pine cones and ribbon. Did an entire 'nature/country' theme on mine this year. I'm LOVING them! I have them all over for my Christmas decor.
LOVE that last pic! Beautiful!
