Little Pumpkin Luminaries

Martha used little white pumpkins as luminaries:

And although I love them, what I love more is how she carved these little beauties! She used metal cookie cutters. She pushed them into the pumpkins and then removed them with pliers. Once they were out she finished the job with a serrated knife.

I always love a good use for a cookie cutter!

I long for a gorgeous walkway like this one (sigh). Something amazing simply must be around that bend...

Those are gorgeous! But can you imagine how much time and money went into that walkway? Of course it's Martha we're talking about so she has unlimited funds and a team. But for a regular Joe to do it? Maybe one...right?

Oh how I love this idea! I can't imagine the amount of work involved, but I think it was definitely worth it.

I love that photo. I did similiar pumpkins (but orange) last year - but I used my husband's biggest drill bit to make the holes, I cut the 'hole' for the candle and to clean the pumpkin from the bottom so the top would look smooth.

We have a tiny walkway from the sidewalk, so only had three pumpkins for each side.
