Gorgeous Ghosts

This weekend my hubby will be home for a few days. He won't be home again until Halloween and since he is the official pumpkin carver in our family we will be carving pumpkins and hoping it stays cool enough that they don't mold before Halloween actually comes. Oh the joys of living in the desert!

I always find ideas that I love and want to do, but since he does the carving, he does the choosing. Well, he and the kids choose. So hopefully I can talk one of them into these gorgeous ghosts from Parents.com:

Too bad you kind find pumpkins with cool stems like that in the grocery store! Yes, sadly we get our gourds from the grocery. No fun pumpkin patch to go to here.

I always look for pumpkins with neat stems and when I spot them, I make sure that the kids pick them up from the bottom as to not break the stems. I love these ghosts. Maybe I'll make MY pumpkin that way. ;)

Those ghosts are cute! Your suppose to put petroleum jelly in all your cut-outs of your pumpkin. And it's makes them last longer.I personally haven't tried it yet,but plan to this year.

Can put the pumpkins in the fridge or freezer during the day or at night to try to preserve them as long as possible. I don't think they will make it two weeks. at least our pumpkins seem to mold in just a few days.
