Distressing with Wax

I love this idea from A Thousand Words:

Although the distressed monogram isn't new, she used melted wax to do the distressing. She painted the entire letter brown, then rubbed melted wax over it. After she painted it white, she easily scrapped the white paint off in the areas she had painted over the wax. Does that make sense? Probably not, but it will if you check out her tutorial here.

What cool way to distress! I swear one of these days I'm going to start doing cool stuff like that!

OK, I have some shutters that I am going to use to hide Spencer's "man corner" and I wanted to distress them. THIS WILL BE PERFECT! It will be great motivation to move the mountain of boxes in front of the shutters so that I can get to work. I will do before and after pics, don't worry. Have I mentioned lately that I love you?
