I love sugar cookies. I bought some cute Easter cookie cutters last year. Tulips and eggs and rabbits. But no chicks. I love this idea from How To Eat A Cupcake:
Flooding is a really great way to frost cookies and they come out beautifully! You make thick royal icing and outline the cookie. Then using a thinner icing, you fill in the space by flooding the cookie. The thicker icing acts as a barricade to keep it from running off the cookie. Once the icing sets it is perfectly smooth!

Those are so cute...and what a clever idea on frosting them. However to frost them I'd have to bake them...and that just isn't going to happen. Eating them....that I can do!
I know!! I saw these and thought they were so clever!! thanks for the help this morning!!
Nikki, the sugar cookie recipe I have on my blog (that is YUMMY) doesn't require letting the dough set in the fridge forever! It is pretty darn easy and you should try it!
Omigosh, that's how they get the frosting so smooth!? I could actually look like I know what I'm doing.
They are just so CUTE!!!! I don't think I'd want to eat them. Even though they look really yummy...

Those look awsome. Thanks for commenting on my blog too! I am the worst baker. I only wish I was as creative.
