I won't be making too many of these because if I did I would be eating too many of these. But my kids will be getting at least a couple in their baskets from the Easter Bunny:
Can't you tell they are from Martha Stewart just by the gorgeous plate they are sitting on! They are chocolate eggs that are in real egg shells. You blow out the eggs, sterilize them and then make a chocolate shell by coating the inside of the egg with melted chocolate and letting it set. Once the shell sets, you fill the rest of the egg with ganache. Have I mentioned that I think ganache is from the gods?
Who am I kidding. I will be eating at least a dozen of these.

Anything from Martha Stewart can't be easy to make, but they sure are pretty! And delicious too, I'm sure.
Holy Ganache Batman! If it weren't for the first two steps (egg blow-out and sterilize) I'd be in the same boat as you. Eating them all!
maybe you could glue a fake egg together and snip off a whole the top. I dont care so much about peeling the egg, I'd just like to eat it.
Heck maybe I'll just make a pot of ganache and eat that....
Oh that Martha! It is so much easier to go get them by the bag!
Erin, to make them as perfect as hers they would take tempering (which can be a pain in the tush) but you could make them pretty darn good and it wouldn't be too hard, just takes some time to let everything set.
Michelle, go for eating the ganache! It is good for so many things. Frosting, ice cream topping. You can make it as thick as you like by using more chocolate and less cream.
I am pretty sure you can get an egg shapped candy mold if you don't want the peeling, but peeling them from an egg shell is what I think is so cool!
Those look divine, but pretty labor intensive! Have you tried them before, and were they difficult to make?
These are really pretty, but they look hard to make. Maybe I'll try it this week since I have 5 dozen eggs in my fridge!!! So weird.
Oh man! This is dangerous for my waist line. I'm going to have to try it.
