DIY Chocolate Bowls

See these fabulous little edible chocolate bowls. They SCREAM "please use me for your son's birthday party"! Or ANY party really!

And you will NEVER guess how you make them! You dip balloons into melted chocolate! Then you let them sit (on parchment sprayed with cooking spray) and after they set, you pop the balloon and they come right out!

Pretty clever! And a LOT easier than using the old 'coat a bowl with chocolate and hope it doesn't fall apart when you try to get it to come out' method!

I think white chocolate with fruit would be pretty perfect too!

Thanks to Stephanie for the great idea.  Unfortunately her tutorial is no longer available.

M-Kay, so may be sounding like an idiot here, but I would be scared the the balloon would pop with the hot chocolate on it. Can you imagine what a delicious mess that would be!

And people wonder how I find the time to read so many blogs!

And I'm not sure what you meant about having Reader show you how many comments you get.

Oh it is too late at night to be reading about something as delicious as chocolate bowls. How great! I love that you could make them simple, or fancy them up for a ladies' get-together. Like fill them with strawberries and drizzle with chocolate...yum!

That white chocolate/fruit idea is a stroke of genius! I will be doing that for easter.

My only concern is if the chocolate will taste like plastic on the inside...not that most people will mention it with a bunch of sugar loaded into it! ;)

I agree with the comment on the taste of the chocolate. Is there a certain kind of balloon you use? Or do you coat the balloon with something first? I definitely don't want balloon flavor chocolate!

Nope, it doesn't effect the taste of the chocolate at all.
