This Might Change Your Life

This might change your life. Unless you didn't go 30 years without knowing this. Then it won't.

Have you ever had a problem with your Plastic Wrap or your Aluminum Foil falling out of the box when you are trying to pull a piece off?

Yeah, did you know that on the side of the box there are tabs that you push in and they 'lock' the roll in place so that doesn't happen?

See for yourself:

Now I will wait for you to get up and go check the rolls in your kitchen. They are there. I promise!

Are you back? Okay! Good.

My mother in law taught me this little trick on Sunday. She found out about it from an email that is floating around. I get emails like that all the time. NEVER got that one!

And I subscribe to almost 600 blogs and have never seen that anywhere. Of course when I did a Google search I realized I must have missed it when TipNut posted it back in June.

But I figured if I missed it then at least one of you didn't know about it, so I had to post it here.

Did you know? I need you to leave me a comment and tell me if I am the last person on the earth to learn this. And if you knew, why didn't you tell me?

I didn't know either, so you were not the last person. I always wondered why they couldn't fix that problem...and they already had!

I did know this but I rarely push them in because it makes the roll harder to unroll. Thus my reason for not passing this wisdom along.

I do it the easy way - I buy my plastic wrap 2 miles at a time, from Costco. It never falls out - I can't even lift it off the counter! ;-)

I'm with you on this one. I totally didn't know this and am about to go and push all of mine in... so I don't have a fit the next time I use plastic wrap or foil.

I didn't know that, either!

I didn't know either... but a) I am worried about it being hard to get out like "So" said and 2) I'm thinking of going to Costco for the 2 mile roll like "Aunt LoLo"!

I had NO clue!

I am glad that I am not the only one who didn't know! I was starting to think I was being left out of some secret society! ;D

I pushed mine in and haven't had any trouble unrolling it...tried it out last night on some Smores Brownies!! But I probably should get the 2 miles worth from Costco. That way when I waste a mile of it trying to get it to stick on stuff I still have some left!

Did I mention that cling wrap is NOT my friend!

Yes, I did know about the little tab, although my current Glad Cling Wrap box has a defective one and the bleeping lid keeps getting stuck in an odd way. If they can put a man on the moon.......

Um, cause I thought everyone knew about it and it isn't worth pushing in, doesn't make a big enough difference. But then, I am a cheapskate, so maybe it is my cheap food wraps in their cheap boxes?

haha, I jsut discovered this a couple of weeks ago. Got all excited and then almost broke a nail trying to get it to work correctly. A bit dissapointing. They get points for trying though!

I heard about it on babycenter awhile back.
