I saw this bed in the Pottery Barn Teen catalog:

I am always looking for cute ideas for the girls room when I get around to actually redecorating it. (We have lived here for 4 1/2 years and I haven't so much as painted a wall....)
Back to dreaming.
So when Toots is no longer in her crib they will need beds. Matching beds of course (you know...after I paint and recarpet and win the lottery).
But I think I could actually MAKE these beds. With basic stuff from Home Depot. Crown molding and such.
I mean it is just a platform. That can't be that hard? Can it?

Of course there goes all the under the bed storage. And where would the dust bunnies live?

Wow, what a clever idea, and one to store away in the back of your brain, for later!
Love your site, it's so full of ideas; things I never even thought about before. It's like a jolt of coffee with ideas.
Yeah you probably could...the feet just look like banister toppers. Great way to think out of the box!
That is a very cool look but having it that low to the ground would drive me crazy!
oh my goodness, that is such a great idea! you could also maybe raise it up a bit higher, and then be able to fit some baskets underneath, so you could still have a little bit of storage...
It seems like it would be easy to make and it's so cute! But you would lose so much storage potential underneath.

I'm sure the dust bunnies would find a way to keep their home ;o)
Also, just don't forget the center support. My hubby is always finding building plans online or @ Lowes...it helps take the guess work out of it!
When I saw this picture I was thinking the same thing. You could make it for so much cheaper. It really doesn't look that hard and it is so cute.
I've always thought platform beds were so cool!
That bed is great, and I don't think it would be that hard to make!
I thank you for validating my sanity! I am not sure my husband will thank you when I attempt the venture! ;D
I don't think you are crazy! I think it is totally do-able. Looks like a sheet of ply-wood with a 2x4 frame (in raw form anyways). Go for it! I think you can do it!
yes, I think that they would be easy to make too.....make sure you post them once you get around to it!
LOL! Now I would have looked at that bed and thought the same thing......couldn't be that hard to make! :)
SUPER cute. Whenever my twins finally succeed in breaking their toddler beds, this will be the way we go. Love it!
P.S. the under bed storage issue: for us, that always amounts to a place to shove things when company comes over. Maybe that's just us, lol.
Hi there! I love PB Teen!! They have such cute stuff. What a fun idea!
I my house, these beds would be perfect - no shoving everything underneath when they are supposed to be cleaning! Love them! ♥
Now I like this...I have a day bed that was my oldest (29) and now my little one (4) is using it...I know been around a good bit but with her as little and not into caring about furniture quite yet this would be a great thing to add to her room down the road when I think she is ready. Hubby though wants to get one for her now but I still have not budged on this cause I know how girls are...jump jump jump down...get my drift...
I think these beds are really cute. I have seen these made on home improvement shows and it doesn't look hard at all.
Really cute! I think the dust bunnies would definitely appreciate the beautiful decor
Thanks SO much for stopping by my blog. Yours is super cute...and I'm definitely a new follower! :)
Just fly us out. Spencer could be your sidekick. You know I will use ANY excuse to get us back to AZ.
