image from Martha Stewart In Spain it is a tradition to eat 12 grapes at midnight, one on each chime of the clock. It started back in 1909 when grape growers thought of it as a way to cut down on the large production surplus they had had that year. But it has been a tradition ever since.
I won't be in Spain for the New Year, but I might still put 12 grapes on a skewer because it looks pretty nifty!

don't know if i could shove them in that quick! interesting though! never heard of that one!
What a neat tradition!
I have a friend who is Greek and Argentinian who does the same thing. I'll have to skewer them this year when we celebrate to save time scrambling to get all of them in our hands.
I've never heard of that tradition before. great idear.
Makes the champagne even prettier!
What is not to love about inexpensive tips from Martha? We should all aspire to be a little more polished for less money. Thank you for another one of your great, great tips.

Cool idea! I love grapes☺ I may have to give that one a try too!
That will be a fun tradition to try! Thanks!
I think that we will have to try this idea. Grapes are one of Cub's very favorites- he just might be able to eat them that quickly! :)
how interesting
