Night At tht Drive Ins: Our Review

The Boy: It was good.

Me: Was it as funny as the commercials made it look?

The Boy: No it wasn't. Wait, yes it was.

Me: What did you like the most about it?

The Boy: The part where Chloe says "I lost my booty" because for a second I thought she was talking about this booty (he points to his butt)

Me: The least?

The Boy: I liked all of it.

It wasn't at all what I expected from the previews. Papi (the voice of George Lopez) wasn't ever funny. And by that I mean he never tried to be funny. There were no funny lines for him really. At least not George Lopez in the trailer funny. And I was hoping there would be some fun dancing music like their was in the preview. to keep Toots occupied. She loves to dance. There wasn't. (until the song from the previews played during the credits).

Now with that being said, the movie wasn't bad. A pretty good story all things considered. I mean there were talking dogs in the movie so I didn't expect it to be Oscar material. The story line was a good one and Chloe was pretty funny from time to time. And there was actually a scene at the end (that had nothing to do with the Chihuahuas or the humans) that almost made me a little teary eyed. But I was tired, so don't hold me to that.

Definitely worth taking your kids too.

The Boy: I liked it a little. That's all I have to say.

Me: Why didn't you like it a lot??

The Boy: Because it kinda has love things in it. And kissing. (he shakes his head in 7-year-old disgust)

This was my second time seeing it and I actually like it more than the first time. Probably because Lou La has listened to the soundtrack about a million times and it has grown on me. The dancing in this one is really REALLY good. And there are more boy dancing scenes (think Keep Your Head In The Game) in this one, so boys can bare the lovey mushy Troy and Gabrielle stuff.

I would say there is probably less love drama in this one than in the second (thank goodness), the dancing is by far the best, and the music grows on you. If your daughter (or you know...you) liked the first two than you will like this one just as much if not more. If you didn't like the first two than I doubt you are going to see this one, so it doesn't matter.

The End

PS I will have to tell you about the popcorn later because this post is already WAY too long!

I think I would probably end up seeing these movies, if I had children. But since I don't, I will just stick to James Bond. :)
