Is today a school day?

The boy walked into the kitchen this morning and asked me if today was a school day. I told him yes and asked him why he asked?

Well you didn't wake me up and my clothes are not on the couch.

I typically lay out their clothes on the couch the night before and after they eat breakfast they take their clothes and go change for school. Last night I wasn't feeling well so I went to be early. And I slept in a bit this morning. The boy actually woke up a little early, so I was still packing lunches.

Things are always a little off when I am sick and right now I don't feel like I have a routine down at all! But it is nice to know that the boy is able to find some structure under the chaos.
