Pieced Heart Table Runner

Jodi made this unbelievably cute table runner for Valentine's Day:

And she shared a tutorial on how to make your own over at Pleasant Home.

Scrap Quilt Placemats

I have a placement issue.  Mostly I don't like to use them!  But we have a new dining room table and three kids that like to make messes, so I have bought a few plain boring ones.  I need something much more fun, and love these that  I found on Craft Gossip:

(Again, I am pretending that I know how to sew, but the good thing about these is that as long as I cut the final piece down to a square I think it will be okay!)

Baby Clothes Quilt

Kara at Craftastical did something that I have been telling myself I am going to do for years. She made this:


The quilt is gorgeous. And although just completing a quilt is on my to do list, this quilt is different. She made the quilt from her daughters baby clothes:

I kept ever piece of clothing Lou La wore as a baby. The boy too. And Lou's clothes got a second use with her little sister...but I don't know that they are going to get used again. But I CANNOT get rid of them. So I keep telling myself I am going to make a quilt out of them. And now, after seeing Kara's, I think I am going to get out a box and start cutting quilt squares out of them.

Anyone Can Quilt

I don't know if it is true, but I love this blog (Anyone Can Quilt) because it makes me want to quilt. Even though the closest I have come to quilting is tying a quilt that was already finished. You know what else I love about that blog. I love this quilt:

Heart Rag Quilt

I *heart* this rag quilt from Kari and UCreate:

I think I am going to have to give this one a shot. Maybe a summer project. Maybe make two for the girls beds I plan on making this summer! Of course, I have never quilted before, so maybe we should start small.

I am torn. Part of me wants to make a perfect quilt and the other part of me thinks it would be fun to let Lou La cut out the hearts. Hmmmmm...we will have to see!

School of Crafts has a really great tutorial on Quilted Coasters like these:

They are pretty darn easy to make. I am not much of a sewer, but I could totally make them! And think of the possibilities! They could coordinate beautifully with your decor or you could use crazy fun fabric. You could make some with holiday themes. Just about anything. Check out here step by step tutorial here.
