7 Spooky Halloween Cakes

Having a girl with a Halloween birthday makes looking at Halloween cakes even more fun.  We usually don't have birthday cake on Halloween because the night is already so full of sugar, but these spooky Halloween cakes make it hard to resist.

William Sonoma sells a haunted house kit each year, and this year they have used it to make the most amazing haunted house Halloween cake.

I am not sure how I feel about green icing, but I love this spider web cake topper.  You can get the details for making your own over at Oh Happy Day.

This bloody Halloween cake is probably a little too much for a 7-year-old, but I will be keeping it in the archives for when she is a little bit older.  Details for this cake can be found on Say It With Cake.

This monster eye cake doesn't just cover my love of Halloween themed eyeballs, it is made with Oreos and Junior Mints.  You can't beat that.  You can check it out over on The Cake Blog.

I love this simple skeleton cake from Max and Ellie.  She used store bought fondant to make the skeleton outline on a sheet cake.  The addition of the paper heart makes it even cuter!

I have never made a cake roll, but with a Halloween cake design this cute, trying one may be hard to pass up.  Marjorie from Sugar for the Brain has a great photo tutorial, recipe, and even a template to help you create this fun Halloween decorated cake roll.

And last but not least on my list this year is this spider web cake I saw over on Country Living (also made by Carrie of The Cake Blog) is supposed to take about 10 minutes to decorate.  I am not sure if they include frosting the cake or just drizzling the marshmallow to make the spider webs, but either way it sounds great.
