Decorate Your Earbuds

Decorative Earphones from Craft and Creativity

Spiral Clock

How fun would this clock I saw on Shak In Style be in a game room:

The clock turns and the ball moves along with the time.  When it hits 12:00 the ball drops through the whole and rolls back to 1.  You can even pick different designs, colors, and have the ball drop through the hole at a time other than 12:00.

So in my imaginary game room I could have the ball drop through at 7:00 when it is time to stop playing and get ready for bed.

You can find out more about this super cool clock at The Spiral Clock.

Sweater Flower Pillows

I saw this picture of Angella Eisman's pillows over at Apartment Therapy:

They are all made from old sweaters, which is really neat, but they could be made from old shoes for all I care.  They are gorgeous!  And I am pretty sure I need a rainbow of flower throw pillows for my couch.  Absolutely need!  Or maybe for the girls beds.

Of course that is over $500 worth of pillows on that couch, so I am going to have to figure out how to make some myself and keep my eyes open for colorful sweaters!

Chocolate Dipping

For Halloween I wanted to do a caramel apple bar, but I couldn't think of a way to keep the caramel and the chocolate melted in large quantities.  I experimented with a crock pot, but there wasn't enough temperature control.

But now that problem is solved!  I saw this picture over at At Second Street:

Of course now I am kicking myself for not buying a roaster oven when they were on sale around Thanksgiving. I will know better next year.  I am going to add it to my wish list!  Maybe I will even be crazy enough to buy two, if I can find a place to store them!

Rainbow Keyboard

Dear Jon,

If you are trying to think of something to get me for Christmas, I am sort of in love with this:

This rainbow keyboard skin from Top Decal makes me happy.   And I am pretty sure it would fit in my stocking.  Just saying!

Merry Christmas to me!

Lorie

PS - This Snow White iPad one is pretty clever too:

And making your iPhone look like a can of Coke is pretty fun:

but the rainbow keyboard really just makes me happy.

Paper Cut Art

These paper cuts rolls from Behance:

are being added to the list of things that I am pretty sure I am not talented enough to do, but am going to have to pay someone to do for me.

Also on that list, these crayon sculptures:

I am pretty sure I need both.

Leaf Art Carving

You need to go check out this Leaf Art from Nature's Art

I found them on Craft Magazine and you can see how she makes them HERE.  How I wish I could even make a basic shape on a leaf, let alone a gorgeous picture.  You can see the rest of her pieces HERE.

Irrational Halloween Wishlist 2010

Last year I started posting my irrational halloween wishlist.  The irrational wishlist is things that would be so fun to have, but would be silly just to buy or do for Halloween.  Things like buying a black leather couch to drape spooky torn cheese cloth over:

Now if you have a black leather couch, this isn't irrational at all.  Even if you wanted a black leather couch it wouldn't be too bad.  But I don't like leather couches personally.  Just for Halloween.  It also includes painting your front door and all of your dining room chairs orange.

My list has started already this year.  And it includes and orange beetle:

and a couple hundred pumpkins:

and it is only the beginning of September.  Heaven help us if we ever win the lottery.

What is on your irrational Halloween decoration list?

Cupcakes and Ice Cream Cones

When you read as many blogs and visit as many websites as I do, you tend to find a lot of cute things that you really don't need, but you want to buy anyway.  In order to keep myself from spending lots and lots of money on things like cupcake ear buds (although I could use a new pair):
and sugar cone ice cream dishes:

I post about them here, show them to you, and get it all out of my system.

I feel better already.  How about you?

Bakers Twine

I have seen this cute twine popping up all over the place:

But until now I only knew it as twine.  I have seen it for sale in Etsy shops and other online printing shops. But when I saw a post about it on Polka Dot Made, she let it slip that it is Bakers Twine.  And knowing that little piece of information, you can find it all over the internet for SUPER cheap.

The only problem is it comes in large quantities.  Like 3000 yards.  I think I am going to need to find someone to split some with!

Just think of all the cute garlands you could make with this!!

Beautiful Baked Doughnuts

Heather from Sprinkles Bakes has convinced me that I need one of these doughnut pans:

so that I can bake these doughnuts:

so that I can make them this cute:

I am seeing chocolate doughnuts dipped in orange and purple glaze with black and green sprinkles for Halloween breakfast.  Because before a night of eating unlimited candy you need a good breakfast.

You can get the recipe for these vanilla bean doughnuts HERE.

A Twist on the Draped Fabric Ceiling

Ashley Meaders has some really beautiful party ideas.  She is the person behind these cute little pancakes I posted about back in April:

My new favorite idea from her site is this:

Instead of draping fabric, she draped strips of  lots of different fabric.  Such a fun and colorful idea.  I think I want this over my bed all of the time!

Cookeye

I saw these Cookeys (Cookie Key Covers) over at Baking Bites:

I have never owned a key cover.  Never saw the need.  Never had that much trouble telling my keys apart. But now I need one!  I just have to figure out if it will work with the keys that aren't rounded.  What is this key shape called anyway:

Mini Cheesecakes

When I saw these yummy Chocolate Butterscotch No Bake Cheesecakes from Bakers Royale I fell in love:

Not just for the recipe (which you can find HERE) but with the pan.  This pan:

The 12-Cup Mini Cheesecake Pan that I now can't live without.  It is on my wish list.  But not just because of the cute mini cheesecakes you can make with it.  Because I need to use it to make mini ice cream cupcakes like the ones that I made for my Hubby's birthday but without the un cute aluminum cupcake wrappers!

Adding it to my Christmas list as we speak!

Carved Crayons

How I wish I was talented enough to do this:

These fabulous little crayon people are the work of Diem Chau, who judging by these gorgeous little things has more talent in one strand of hair than I posses in my entire being!

These cute little people remind me of these wonderful little carved match figures that my husband brought home from Chile.  Sadly, I am responsible for the death of each and every one of those cute little match sculptures.  One by one I accidentally killed them all off.  I always dream that one of these days I will take my hubby back to Chile and we will find the man that carved them.

Needless to say I will not be forking out $450 to break one of these beauties.  My luck Toots would get ahold of it and use it to color one of her princess pictures.  But wow how Lou La would love this!

I think I might have to add a crayon family (one that looks like each of us) to my "if I win the lottery" wish list!

You can check out more of these amazing little guys HERE.

Sunday Swoon (on Monday...but I wrote it on Sunday so it should count)

Just a few things from blogland that have me swooning!  (Also known as I really need to clean out the starred items from my Reader!)

This framed mirror from Show & Tell:

This screen door makeover from Junk Fest:

Ruffle Lampshade from Luvtodecorate:

And these ruffleless lamps from Velvet and Linen:

And finally, I never thought I would have a need for a wine rack, but Susie Harris change my mind by showing me that I can use it to store vintage rolling pins:

I don't actually have any vintage rolling pins, but why let that stop me?

Shower Curtains

These are from Anthropoligie and I love them all:

And although I love this...I wish it were white:

My bathrooms are definitely not this pretty!

My Taste is Getting More Expensive

I saw these Clara French cake stands on Pen & Paper Flowers:

And like Jess, I would love one in EVER color!  That is nothing new for me...but these range from $250 to almost $400 each.  I don't see one of each color in my near future.

2/17/2010

White Dishes

Lish from Craft was invited to attend a taping of the Martha Stewart show and posted this picture:

Can I just say that I need all of those dishes.  That is all.

Christmas Wish List

Looking through as many blog posts as I do, I often find fun ideas for presents. Let's start off with a present for ME! If anyone has ANY IDEA where to get this Apothecary jar, PLEASE tell me! I want to buy it for myself for Christmas:

I saw it at Thrifty Decor Chick, but she got it from a blog that got it from a magazine forever ago, so no source for the picture OR the jar!

This one is for my Hubby. He works out of his car and the Power Cup would be perfect for him! It fits in the cup holder and you can plug in your Iphone/Ipod and two additional outlets! Perfect for someone that works out of their car a lot!

And this cute little playhouse tent that I found at Design Dazzle was made by Lier at Ikatbag:

I know my girls would LOVE THIS!! And it is way too cute. Look at all the fun treats inside the candy store:

Even I want to play in it! You can see the details here or check out all of the other fun tent playhouse ideas that Design Dazzle posted about.

What fun stuff have you seen around the blogosphere that you are going to ask Santa to bring to you?
