Halloween Trick or Treat Flashlights

I know I said that there wasn't time to do any more Halloween crafts, but there is time to do this:

Martha Stewart has some great tips for dressing up a regular flashlight to make it the perfect accessory to your child's costume.  And it will help keep them safe, not to mention make them a little easier to find in a big crowd of kids.  You can check out the Flashy Lights HERE.

CWTS Sweet Treat Costumes - Kristen Duke Photography

So this was my favorite project from Crafting with the Stars and yes I am being competely biased!  My partner Kristen of Kristen Duke Photography made these fun costumes for the competition.  I have seriously never met anyone like Kristen.  She was on fire!  I think it took her like 5 minutes to make all of these costumes.  We brainstormed ideas and then an hour later she was sending me the images that she had already edited!

I can't wait to work with her again this week!

Here is a little tutorial on how to make the sweet treats for the family (in case you need costumes this weekend): I must first say that my awesome neighbors were my models (plus my daughter as choco chip girl). I basically free hand drew the shape for each costume, so not sure I can explain how to do that except I did draw the elephant on paper first, then traced it on the felt.

For the chocolate chip cookie I used hot glue and saftety pins to hold the two pieces of felt together, then flipped it inside out and stuffed with grocery bags:

I had a brown headband (with a big leather flower on it) that I wanted to use again, so I just covered it up so that I could easily take it off when I was done with the cookie costume...my daughter wore this to school the next day with just a normal outfit.

Inside the donut is an orange inflatable tube leftover from our summer pool excursions. I did sew this part.

And then the cupcake:

The bottom of my cupcake, the skirt, I folded like an accordian or fan, then put it under something heavy, and starched it. Turned out nice and bendy:)

Ghost Pillowcase Dress

Mandy from Sugar Bee Craft Edition made this cute pillowcase dress for her daughter:
Pillowcase dresses are so fun and you can see her tutorial on how to make one HERE.  You can use this one as a cute holiday outfit or even a costume!

Ruby has a great Haunted House pillowcase dress that her aunt Re made for her.  I am hoping it will still fit this year!!  I would show you a super cute picture of it, but of course I can't find one at the moment!  Gotta love my picture organization method.  Not really loving it at the moment!

BLT Costume

So there are 5 of us in my family.  The hubby and I and our three kiddos.  And I am pretty sure the kids would protest, but I sort of love this costume idea:

Mostly I just want to see Ruby in a cute little tomato costume!
