2014 Whirlpool Reveal [CES Wrap Up]

A couple of weeks ago I gave you a little sneak peak of what Whirlpool was going to be up to this year at CES.  Well the Consumer Electronics Show has ended and not we can see the full details of what Whirlpool has in store for us in 2014.
I knew going in that they were going to offer some fun options for their Designer Duets, but this short video gives you a great look at some of the design options that will be available for your new washer and dryer.  This gives a whole new meaning to buying a matching set!

I am usually a polka dot girl, but this time the large brocade style patterns have won me over.  The patterns are such a great way to make the daily laundry work a little more bearable, but if your house is anything like mine, the laundry room is one of the main entries into our house.  Now you have the option of giving that space a little more personality!

I also shared with you some info I was really excited about, the interactive cooktop concept, but Whirlpool showed off more than a cooktop.  The kitchen of the future was full of connected appliances!  By connected, I mean they communicate with each other over a wi-fi connection.  Your fridge can tell you what you need to pick up at the grocery store, then when you know what you are having for dinner, your oven will preheat itself.  And when the oven preheats for something extra messy, the dishwasher will be ready on the perfect setting to clean those dishes.  All of this making your dinner prep and cleanup that much easier!  I am pretty sure my husband will love this even more than I do!  I call him at least twice every time I go to the grocery store.
Remember the CoolVox refrigerator?  The fridge that has the blue tooth enabled Harman Kardon speakers?  Well we got a peak at the inside of the fridge and it is wonderful too!  Beautiful sound on the outside and beautiful features like an external refrigerated drawer for easy access to snacks and great options for your shelf configuration like sliding half shelves on the inside!  You can see the inside of the refrigerator here.
And we can't forget the MaxArt Microwaves.  Beautiful pieces of artwork for your kitchen that just happen to function like a microwave too!
So much technology and customization available from Whirlpool!  I can't wait to see some of these great appliances in person!  Which of these Whirlpool CES appliances are you most interested in getting your hands on?

My idea for the future of my home: I would actually like to own a home of my own, firstly, and if I did have a home, I would want solar panels on the roof, and all energy-saving appliances in the kitchen, laundry room, sensor faucets throughout, excellent venting system over the gas range, and a nice open layout that makes moving around in the house, a breeze :)

I would love to somehow pipe rain water to be used in my garden hoses. I have rain barrels but to have it actually come out of my hoses would be great! I am sure there is a way to do it but I couldn't afford it. LOL But in the future I hope my home is more green.

I would love to see everything easy to clean and low maintenance! I really need an oven/stove that cut off automatically so I don't burn things because I am too A.D.D. to remember! I am not sure if I would use the other techie stuff but I am willing to give it a go! sonyadmorris@gmail.com

appliances that are energy efficient would be a major plus for our household, the bills would literally be cut in half.

Right now we need a refrigerator that allows the adults to get water from the dispenser but either prohibits or restricts the usage for our toddler who can now reach it ... and likes to play in the water :P

In my imagination (because that's where it is for now) I would like to have afr more streamlined kitchen. I like the idea of the appliances talking to each other, maybe have some tables built into the front of them that talk to my phone.

Well, to be totally honest, I'd LOVE for a drinking fountain in my house that dispensed Diet Dr. Pepper! :) But I would also love something similar to rain barrels that helped catch our excess water (rain water, shower water, extra water from the tap) so we could use it on our lawn later.
