Feeling Good About Doc McStuffins Season 2

I feel better, so much better. Thank you Doc for taking all the ouches away!
If you now have the rest of my favorite song from Doc McStuffins running through your head, then you will be excited to know that Season 2 of Doc McStuffins starts September 6 on Disney Junior!  To celebrate, there will be a new episode of each Friday in September!  My daughter Ruby is very excited to see what Doc will be adding to her Big Book of Boo Boos this season and I have to admit that I am pretty excited myself!

After its premiere, Doc McStuffins quickly became one of Miss Ruby's favorite shows!  We have watched every episode together and I love the cute story lines and watching Ruby give her stuffed animals check ups after each episode.  My appreciation for Doc grew even more after my son Owen was born.  Ruby tagged along to all of Owen's well visits and, at first, she was pretty anxious to take her new baby brother to the doctor.  She didn't like the idea that he was going to get shots and cry.  Because of all those episodes we had watched together, I was able to walk Ruby through everything that they would do at Owen's well visits.  Then, being the sweet big sister that she is, she would tell Owen all about everything that would happen.  By the time her own well check came around, she was a pro and didn't worry at all!  She even impressed her pediatrician by knowing the names of the tools that he used.

In addition to helping Ruby feel comfortable going to the doctor, I am hoping some of the tips she has learned watching Doc give advice to her toys will help keep us away from some of the germs that come along with starting school and the onset of cold and flu season.  "You don't wanna pass germs to your friends, everybody wash your hands!"  And if we do have to make a trip to the doctor, I know that Ruby won't be worried. Here's some other great tips from Doc:

If you want a little sneak peak of season 2, you can head over to the  Doc McStuffins website and explore the new episodes! Also, find out if The Doc Mobile Touris coming to your city!

We love Doc! She's awesome! Julia (my 2-1/2 year old) picked out a Doc McStuffins book at the elementary school book fair last night and hasn't put it down since. We got out to the car and she showed us that it matched her Doc water bottle!

I think one of the biggest things my girls have picked up is washing the hands. And covering your mouth when you sneeze.

We love Doc McStuffins. We just recently started watching it and my 18 month old son was hooked. He doesn't watch a lot of shows, but when the Doc is on he gets quiet and stares, loves the music and dancing. He has a lot of Dr. appt's due to a birth defect, and I hope that when he is older the show will make him less afraid of Doctors...

My neice comes to visit and the reason i love Doc McStuffins is because i can tell her Doc Mcstuffins does it and it is gold. This show is such a major influence in showing doctors in good light and also getting little ones to be more proactive about taking care of themselves.

My daughter has a Doc McStuffins jacket she just got for her birthday and she loves dressing up and treating everyone in the house. Today I'm not feeling well and she has played pretend doctor several times.

My kids realize the importance of staying healthy because of Doc Mcstuffins and the lessons she teaches through caring for the stuffed animals. They like to pack healthy snacks such as granola bars and fruit for when we are on the go.

Pretty excited by the new season here, too! We don't get to see it at home, but Mamaw saves it on their t.v. and both my kids love to watch it.
At home they like to play pretend doctors to their stuffed animals -- so cute!

I'm the doc mcstuffins in our house. My kiddo brings me all the broken toys and we sing the song together! Kinda funny, but I just blogged about this on my blog the other day!

Doc Mcstuffins has helped us in 2 specific ways! When a small injury occurs at the playground, we play and sing the song and the ouchie goes away MUCH quicker. Also, the episode on keeping hydrated has helped my son drink more when we're out on a hot day! Woot! We are fans as well. =)

I love taking healthy snacks on the go like the squeezable greek yogurts, string cheese, pretzels and berries. :)

We love the kind and friendly nature of Doc, she is a great role model to my children.
I keep my children healthy on the go by creating healthy snacks such as almonds, rice cakes, dried fruit and cheese strings and of course water. I make sure they use hand sanitizer wherever we go to ward of nasty germs! I also encourage them to be healthy by taking them for long walks, playing and leading by example.

We try to stay healthy on the go by not giving in to fast food temptations (easier for them than me!) We haven't seen Doc McStuffins before but it looks fun.

My daughter (2) loves Doc. We have Doc everything! Bed sheets, stuffed animals, stickers...you name it. She likes to use the playset and play doctor on her stuffed animals. I love watching the episodes with her and my favorite thing is how everything that is shown is extremely realistic. So its easy for her to relate to situations she is faced with.

My daughter has benefited and learned lots from the shows, eating healthy, washing her hands and drinking plenty of water. My favorite thing that I have seen her do is help others when they are need and to share. Doc is such a great role model for our young children right now. I am grateful that my daughter has a character like this to look up to.

Doc is one of my kids' favorite TV shows. We learn so much about safety and what is or what isn't appropriate to do, like keeping hands clean and eating right. I have picky eaters so we have to hide the veggies/fruits in fruit juices and veggie sticks.

My two year old (almost three) loves Doc McStuffins and so does the rest of the family! I love that she eats healthy and in my favorite episode she stops eating when she is full. I grew up having to eat everything on my plate, don't get me started about having to eat fried liver...yuck! To this day, I feel like I have to finish everything on my plate only to feel miserable after. sonyadmorris@gmail.com

I think it is great how the episodes teach kids not to be scared of the doctor but to embrace what the doctor can do for you when you are sick or to keep you from getting sick. It is so important for children to be raised to not fear doctors but to see them as an every day part of a healthy lifestyle! Adults can be fearful and pass that fear onto their children, so that makes shows like this doubly important to help break that cycle of fear.
