Fruit Dip Recipes

Caramel Apple Dip from Sweetnicks

After seeing this picture from Sweetnicks in my Reader, I headed over to find out what this yummy looking caramel apple dip was made from.  When I was in high school I was introduced to fruit dip at a friends house.  I was not at all surprised to find out that the base was one of my favorite fruit dip combinations.  Cream Cheese and powdered sugar.  She then topped it with a caramel dip and chocolate chips, something we will be trying the next time we need a special treat.  You can get the recipe HERE.

But it got me thinking about the different (and all very easy) combination of fruit dip recipes there are out there, so I wanted to ask you what your recipe is?  Do you have one?  If so please leave it in the comments section or if you have posted about it on your blog, please leave a link for me.

I usually go with the basic 1 pkg of cream cheese (8oz) to 1 cup of powdered sugar.  Then I add more powdered sugar to taste.  This one is really good with strawberries.

t also works really well if you replace the cream cheese with sour cream.  I usually add a little more powdered sugar to this one though.  Strawberries, grapes, and apples.  YUM!

Kraft foods actually suggests mixing 1/2 cup of brown sugar and a 1/2 tsp. of vanilla to your cream cheese.

Tastes of Home suggests a package of cream cheese, 1/2 cup of apple butter, 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract.  Then you throw in some chopped peanuts for good measure.

My mother in law dips strawberries in sour cream and then rolls them in brown sugar (or sugar in the raw) and it tastes a hundred times better than you think it would by the description.

And I think I have seen variations using marshmallow cream, orange juice, cool whip, and a combination of all of the other ingredients mentioned above in one form of another, but what is YOUR favorite?

We use Strawberry cream cheese and a jar of marshmallow fluff. It's so fast and easy - and everyone seems to love it.

packing of cream cheese, small package of instant pudding mix (favorite flavor is cheesecake) and 1 cup milk....very good and is absolutely wonderful with strawberries...just made this dip for daughter's 7th birthday. You can adjust milk to the desired thickness...I almost always add a little more milk than a cup.
