Valentine's Day Wreaths

Yesterday I posted about Valentine's wreaths and in the comment section someone said they had never thought about making a wreath for Valentine's Day.  I blame this on the fact that I have no great method for looking up past posts.  If I did, she would see lots of Valentine's wreaths.

I am still working on fixing my categories so they are less funky (eating heart shaped candy) and more helpful (Valentine's Day) but until I get it all worked out (there are over 4000 posts, so it will take some time to get it right), here are Valentine's wreaths from posts past.

Before there were paper roses, there were real carnations:

Fabric hearts:

and ribbon hearts:

and felt hearts:

Funky pink feather boas:

and even pink acorns:

There were wreaths made with Valentine's themed scrapbook paper:

and wreaths made with vintage Valentine's:
And what would Valentine's Day be without a wreath made from candy:

Okay, not exactly a wreath, but you could still hang it from your door!

There are only about a million and a half other ideas out there, but these should at least get you started!

I love the acorns (and even made an acorn wreath this year:http://oregonkaisers.blogspot.com/2010/10/wreath.html )

BUT THEN SQUIRRELS ATE ALL MY ACORNS. True!!! Yes, even though the acorns were covered in purple paint. They busted through the screen door and climbed up the interior of the screen door to reach onto the wreath. And the acorns were held on with a lot of HOT GLUE. Hungry little suckers!

I had a wooden heart one, but the sun gets so hot thru my screen door that it fell apart and broke :( But now I get a new one...when I get around to that(after I get around to the shirts...wink wink)

I'm drawn to the felt one, it's so simple but has a lovely warmth to it.

I love your wreaths too, I was going to try the paper hear wreath but I was wondering, what would be the best way to weatherize it so the colors didn't run? Is that even possible?!!

Ooooh! The felt and the feather boa are by far my favorites!

To be honest, I never even realized there were fun and funky wreaths at all until I started ready blogs and spending more time online. My great aunt is a wreath designer (craft fairs) and I always associated wreaths with older women and super traditional decor. Ick. Fake flora and fauna are not my bag...

However, feather boas and felt make everything more fun, right?!

I just made a Valentine's Day yarn wreath! It was so easy that I just might have to start making them for ALL of the holidays :)
