Gingerbread Houses

Tomorrow we will be making gingerbread houses as a family.  It will be the first time we have done it alone.  We usually get together with all of my husbands siblings to make them.  Each family gets one house to decorate together and it is pretty competitive stuff.  Who has the most creative roof?  Who has the best yard?  Who has indoor plumbing?  Yes one year we had a gingerbread house complete with an out house.

Because of the competition, I start saving gingerbread house ideas early in November.  I have a file of them on my computer.  And this year was no different.  Here are some fun ideas I have been collecting for our houses:

I have about a million and a half other pictures of houses that I could show you.  And I might!  But I will spread them out!

Love these! My SIL has a Gingerbread Throwdown every year. It's very competitive... you get an hour to construct and decorate, and you are allowed to steal decorations from other teams!

Wow, great ideas! The camper one cracks me up...you'd have to win for originality on that one. :-) But my favorite is the first one, hands down. I love those colors on the roof, and the marshmallow and gum drop trees are adorable.
