I have been looking for a way to hang up all the pettiskirt-esque skirts my girls have. They share a dresser and there just isn't room in their drawers for all that fluff. I could hang them in their closet, but that would be all I could hang in there.
I thought about hanging them in a garland like way, but the colors just don't go well enough to spread them out like that. Trust me I tried every combination. I spent a good hour in my living room rearranging them on the floor before I surrendered. It was mismatched and not in the cute way that I love.
I was about to give up hope and just leave them in the laundry basic where they currently reside, and then I saw this image from Joy's Hope:
As much as I would love to have a cute vintage ladder in their room to hang their skirts on, I don't have a cute vintage ladder and I do have a little girl who would think climbing up that ladder was way too much fun. So although not perfect, it has given me hope that I will find something I love. I am actually contemplating something like this towel rack idea:
Or a cute coat rack. Or....any suggestions?

I love the towel rack idea! That would look so incredibly cute with petticoats hanging off glass knobs. Girlie and sweet. Can't wait to see what you come up with!!!!

Oh! Glass knobs! Good idea!!
I read your blog all the time but never comment. I did this: http://thatswhatshesaidwritingsfrombrandi.blogspot.com/2010/09/lilys-room-again.html
Hung it from the canopy post...
I saw something about using a stepladder as a bedstead on Martha Stewart's site. How about a step-ladder to hang your little girl's clothes on? They cost less than a full-size one..
