Pretzel Caramel Apples

I have a confession.  Two actually.

1) I love chocolate covered caramel apples.  They are probably my favorite Fall treat.  I love them more than pumpkin pie or pumpkin cookies, or pumpkin anything.  I can't think of any treat I would rather have on Halloween.

2) I know that seasons aren't supposed to be capitalized, but every time I try to type Fall without a capital F it just seems wrong.  So if it is bothering you I apologize, but I just can't bring myself to not capitalize it.  Same goes for Spring and Summer and Winter.  Autumn even.  Although that Autumn was supposed to be capitalized because it was at the beginning of a sentence.  But I can't reword all sentences so that the season is at the beginning.  Of course you probably don't care.  If you were the type of person that cared about grammar and punctuation you probably wouldn't be reading my blog to begin with.  Or maybe you come, but you just look at the pictures.  I bet you are looking at the caramel apple below RIGHT NOW!

And you should be, because it is taking all of my will power not to go down to the kitchen and make one of these pretzel chocolate caramel apples from Charm of the Carolines (that I found over at Craft Gossip) right now:

Well, willpower and the fact that I don't have any caramels in the house.  But these will be made.  And SOON!

Well actualy Lorie, I do care about grammar and puctuation! I teach high school and college English and I do go CRAZY with some of the things I read on in the Blog World. BUT I totally 'get it' what you are saying about the seasons AND I totally agree. The funny thing is that in my high school classes I just told my students the same thing you basically said! That is why I found it so funny you said that. One more thing: I read your blog all day long (shhhhh....don't tell the school!) I love your blog. You do a fantastic job. And, by the way, my son is getting married in three weeks. At the rehearsal dinner I am planning a s'more bar and a caramel apple bar. I now plan to include this delicious looking apple in that group too! Have a great day (and keep up the great work. Lori L

Lori! Thank you so much!

I am glad that I am not the only one that feels that way about the season! And I will keep the all day blog reading a secret! ;D

So funny! I just had a conversation with my husband about capitalizing the seasons and basically told him that I don't care about grammar, it doesn't seem fair that they aren't capitalized :)

Crazy minds think alike! I just did caramel apples last night for the first time and posted today!

And it's ok with the capitalization, I always assumed it was lowercase, unless it was part of something like Spring Fling :) It's your blog, do what you want!

Up until recently, I didn't even like pumpkins, but I still don't like pumpkin pie. Odd I know! I love caramel apples, especially when you roll them in chocolate chips and nuts like those fancy ones you can buy. All those years of braces meant I couldn't have my favorite treat and I still have to be cautous since I have a crown, but I still love those things.

You are too funny - I agree on all counts. Keep the pumpkin stuff away from me, bring on the apples. Lots and lots of apple desserts.

Yummers! I'd never heard of chocolate carmel covered apples...? how? what? Sounds too perfect to pass up! I'm always amazed at the lack of typoes and grammatical errors in the blogs such as yourself that post so much! So carry on, Neville, carry on!

I love the look of the pretzels on the apple. I think seasons should be capitalized too.

I'm all for the capitalizing the seasons...they deserve it. Now, about the apples. You do chocolate OVER the caramel dipped apples? I've never heard of that one but boy it sounds like a flavor mish mash I could fall in love with. How would that apple be if it was coated in chocolate covered pretzels?!? I see what my mission is for the week hehe. Thanks for all your hard searching. I love reaping the bennies!
