Hair Candy Hair Tie Storage

I saw this cute picture from Happy Together:

That cute little jar is a great way to store bows.  But my favorite idea is inside:

She has her rubber bands sorted by color and stored in a pill box.  At least I think that is what it is.  Even if it isn't, that is what I am going to use!  Especially for our road trips this summer.  A great way to keep them organized in the suitcase!

Love the idea of using the pill organizer to store the rubber bands by color. I'm so going to use this. Even though I tried to open the package carefully, we recently had an explosion of tiny baby rubber bands all over my daughter's dresser as I was opening the package. I just opened the top drawer of her dresser & swept them in there to "clean up" the mess. I've been putting off cleaning them up for real b/c I know they'll just get messed up again. Now I have a permanent solution.

These little bands actually come
this way! I buy them all the time at Wal-Mart in the little girls section. There's a little display with hats, umbrellas and hair accessories and you can find them there. Pretty inexpensive as well.

Yeah, so I was going to say what PoetryPlaces said. You can find the hair ties in the pill box organizer at Walmart! Great idea!

Love your blog! :)

Adorable! Avery's bows would probably need a five gallon bucket lol!

They do come in the pill organizer type container, but it does cost a little more. I use a slightly larger pill organizer and fill it with the elastic bands I buy from a cute accessory store. You get almost 2000 bands for $1.99! Totally worth spending the $2 or $3 to buy the organizer and I Mod Podged some scrapbook paper to the tops of the pill organizer after using a file to take off the bumps. There was a blogger that used the same idea to take spices camping. SO adorable...if I remember when I saw it, I'll post the link.

I use a clear tackle box. It was only $5 as Wal-Mart. That way I can see the colors and even divide them up by size too. It's nice because I can have a bunch of colors and sizes. I like the pill box for traveling, but the one I bought like that broke very soon after buying it.

We have the same litttle rubberband box! I love it. We bought it for a stocking stuffer last year and now just refill it when it runs out. Perfect for traveling with too!

Side note: After I saw this, I took a simple jar from the dollar store, did some etching on the side and filled it with the clips, bows, and headbands I was making for a girl at work who is having a baby very soon.
