Mismatched Dinning Room Chairs

Pink and Polka Dot posted this picture of her dining room chairs:

It was meant as a before and after to show what she did to the chairs...but I LOVE the mismatched fabric.  Or I should say I love the IDEA of the mismatched fabric.

I really want mismatched chairs.  Different chairs... all the same color:

Or the same chair in different colors:

It really doesn't matter.  I love them all!  Buy my husband thinks it is a little weird.  Which is why it will be happening at the kitchen table instead of the dining room.  But maybe I could sneak it into the dining room too if it was just the fabric on the chairs.  Not so noticeable, but still enough to make me happy.

Of course, our current chairs aren't upholstered.  Hmmmm...

Does mismatched tickle your fancy?  Or are you on the same side of the fence as my Hubby?

Me too. I love the black chairs.

Mismatched? Yes!! Jack is on board too, but that could be because I brought it up when ESPN was on. If so, too bad. He's locked in.

Mismatched. That's the way it was in my last apartment.

I have mis-matched in my dining room. They are all the same color (black) & they are all ladder back chairs. Work for me. :)

I think this whole idea originally came from "Friends" don't you think? When I saw it on "Friends" I thought, I'm totally doing that when I'm older. All our chairs are mismatched and I sprat paint them different colors whenever I need a change...I love it! We got them all at garage sales!

Maybe I will go and talk to my husband about it right now! He is watching the Suns/Spurs game!

AndKelley-Lou, you are probably right. The kids would fight over the chairs if they were different colors. But we might be okay if I made sure they each had their own favorite color!

This post is killing me!! I was going to do mix-matched chairs in my dining room, but the chairs that came with the table are nicer than the chairs I have been finding for the mix match idea (I already have 3 for that, plus 4 chairs that came with the table). Now I am thinking I might need to switch it back the mix match! This might just push my husband over the edge, I've changed my mind so many times!
