If you know someone with an embroidery machine, they could place some flowers or whatever on that spot and in a few other areas to make it look like a design feature!
I agree with comment #1. A flower would be awesome, but I would make it out of the ribbon or some other fabric. Sew the slit shut and the tack a fabric flower right on the top! I have a link to a tutorial on the sidebar of my blog (the pink flower) that would work perfectly.
If it is in the back, you could just carefully sew in shut from the inside using tiny, close together stitches. No one will notice. If is is in the front, again stitch it shut in same manner. Either make a cute bow or flower to cover it or use a cute pin/brooch. You could also use a cute iron on or sew on patch. It should be easy to fix!
Since it's in the back and off center stitch it shut put a flower on just big enough to cover the stitching then put more flowers in a row to make it symetrical.
sad. she should do a a couple of gathering stitches in the ribbon and make a little rosette and then get a button with the second color of the dress...looks orangey and glue that for the middle of the flower. that would be cute!
a cute patch? or embroidery is a good idea like the others above said. if you try and hide a patch in the back it's going to show. maybe a fun fabric flower?

I agree! An embellishment would get the job done. I might zig zag the slit to close it, then cover it with the decorative element.
I was thinking the same as the last 2 posts-make a flower out of the ribbon-I think it would be cute.

Ladies you are the best! The slit IS the back (and off center) but I feel inspired! Thanks!
I would use tshirt fabric in pink, red or orange....and make a flower...to attach over the slit. Maybe even a punch of bright green with a leaf.
Even a bow out of tshirt fabric would work.
If it's it the back - sew it shut and make a little pair of fabric fairy wings to attach.

I would use stitch witchery and fuse it shut. I LOVE stitch witchery. . . .I hope I'm spelling that right.
