Easter Ham in the Crock Pot

So I have a ridiculously small oven in this house.  I am pretty sure it is supposed to be part of a pair, but there is a microwave on top and I only have one small oven.  Which makes the idea of baking a ham and preparing a side dish that might need a little time in the oven almost ridiculous.

So I have to decide, no baked side dishes (goodbye twice baked potatoes) or cook the ham in a crock pot.  I am seriously considering the latter.  And if you are interested in a crock pot ham, you can check out THIS recipe from A Year of Slow Cooking.

Anyone ever tossed their ham in a crock pot?  Any good recipes you would like to throw my way?  Or do I just sacrifice the baked yummy side dishes?

My parents bbq their ham...another option if the slow cooker doesn't work out.

I have almost always done my small hams in the crockpot. A little pineapple juice, maybe some terriyaki and brown sugar and just turn it on! Most hams just need to be warmed up, so they get super tender and it's delish! No recipe needed :)

I just read her post myself, and I think that's what I'll be doing. I forgot to buy my normal pineapple and coke to cook mine in, and I think I have all of her ingredients already, so...there we go. :)

Never thought of doing that, but why not? Might give it a try. Blessing of Easter to you.

We pour a jar of apricot pineapple jam on top, then pack on the brown sugar. So yummy. I bet it would work in the crock pot too.

Thanks for sharing this recipe! I used it to cook our ham yesterday and it turned out so moist and delicious.
